Vanessa Pinkney, Headteacher TGMS 50th Anniversary Celebrations TGMS celebrate their 50th birthday this September and there are a number of different events being planned. As part of these celebrations they are producing a 50th Birthday Penn & Tylers Green Celebration Book and would love to have people's Toddler memories Group and photos to include in the book *. Contact Julie: 07766 881567 Plans Juandjust@btinternet.com to celebrate 50 years of educating children at TGMS are now well underway, with a series of special events bringing together past and present pupils, staff and parents with our local community. We hope to see as many of you as possible to celebrate this auspicious occasion! Celebrations will begin with performances from the school choir and the Local Vocals on July 4th from 6pm in a specially erected www.pennandtylersgreen.org.uk Village Voice April/May 2018 marquee in the school grounds. Parents and the local community are invited to come along to enjoy the entertainment and drinks from the bar! The Golden Ball, taking place on the 7th July, promises to be the village event of the summer - we still have a few tickets available if you would like to join friends for an enjoyable dinner, a live band, DJ and help to raise funds for our lovely school: tickets are £50/person and available via tickets@tylersgreenmiddle.co.uk The school looks forward to welcoming locals to a Community Tea Party from 3.45pm on the 21st September where guests will be able to enjoy tea and a slice of celebratory cake. From 5pm - 9pm at our Open Evening, guests will be able to hear about the school’s history, view some memorabilia and enjoy a tour hosted by members of the School Council and the House Captains, whilst enjoying a drink from the bar. We hope as many of you as possible will join us for a trip down Memory Lane! All monies raised via the above events will be spent on creating a lasting legacy for the school: a specially designed, shaded outdoor learning space and sensory garden in which pupils will be able to enjoy learning, relaxation, reading and many other educational activities over the years to come. Look out for further updates and please do contact us if you have any special memories of TGMS that you that you would like to share with us as we’ll be creating a number of resources in commemoration of 50 very special years: TGMSalumni@gmail.com Tylers Green First School Having survived the snow and arctic winds and weather, we look forward to Spring with a little more warmth from the sun to encourage us outside more. We are running another of our successful outdoor days in the last week of the school term and would like to have some spring in the air to enjoy. We had a splendid themed week before half term when the children studied different areas of the world and learnt about their cultures and beliefs. In one class, the children made pizzas 19
