and enjoyed drawing picture of Venice and making Venetian masks. The classes all had a wide range of practical activities to explore and a great time was had by all. We have had class assemblies which the children enjoyed working towards, as their parents can see them in action telling the school what they have been learning this term. We were due to enjoy World Book Day when unfortunately the snow came along and closed the school for two days. This was rescheduled to the 6th March when the children (and staff) came to school dressed as their favourite character from a book. Some of the children will have a chocolate workshop where they get to learn about chocolate and actually make their own chocolate to take home with them. A chocolatier comes and works with the children for this. As you can imagine this day is really full of excitement and anticipation. Year 2 will have a trip to the local golf course for a morning to experience some activities related to golf. This activity has been very much enjoyed in previous years. We had Easter competitions at the end of term and enjoyed seeing the very creative ideas for Easter bonnets, decorated eggs and Easter gardens. The children always work hard on their chosen entry and some are amazingly creative. We are looking forward to spring and summer activities such as Maypole Dancing and Sports Days next term as well as producing vegetables and flowers this year, and class trips. We look forward to using our outdoor areas without having to wear coats, hats and gloves all the time. Contact telephone number 01491 813201 The P&TG Village Pre-school This term the children will celebrate World Book Day and make crafts for Mother’s Day and Easter. Following the huge success of our joint Christmas party with residents from Little Oaks Residential Home and Kiddleydivey, we are looking forward to taking a group of children for a reciprocal visit to see the staff and residents for an Easter party. The children and residents will be making Easter bonnets in preparation for this. Incredible eggs will be bringing eggs to the pre-school at the end of April. We are excited at the prospect of seeing little ducklings hatch. In the past we have successfully hatched chicks so ducklings this time will be a lovely surprise! Our amazing parents committee are busy organising a number of fund raising events to support the pre-school. A soft play party has already been arranged at the Hazlemere Youth Centre & The Avenue café on Sunday 22nd April 10am-12pm. Please come along and support us. Cost is £3 per child and is suitable for children 5 years and under. We welcomed new families this term and look forward to welcoming more after Easter. We are confident they will settle very quickly into pre-school life. Bookings are now being taken for September 2018 for children ages 2 -4 years. 30 hours free childcare can be provided for those who are eligible.
