In 2013 our 18 year old son Alexander died suddenly from myocarditis, a virus which attacks the heart. It is one of the leading causes of death in young people and could sadly affect anyone, often otherwise very healthy people. Much is still not understood about the condition, including how common it is and why a virus such as flu can trigger it. In 2013 Alexander's dad set up the Alexander Jansons Fund based in Beaconsfield, to help fund research at the Royal Brompton Hospital into myocarditis. Improving outcomes for people who contract the virus, raising awareness and helping to save lives. Very recently we have joined forces with Cardiomyopathy UK. We have successfully run many fun fundraising events, such as quiz, bingo and race nights, skydiving, football tournaments and many more. We are small enough that any amount of money raised will have an impact and every penny raised goes to our cause, we have no admin or salary costs at all. Our latest event is the first Alexander Jansons Fund Charity ball, to be held at the beautiful Bisham Abbey on 19th May 2018. I still have a few tables left for this black tie event to include bubbly on arrival, a three course meal, magician, dancing to the wonderful Swing Collective band and a charity auction. If you would like more information or can help us in any way our website is www. and perhaps we might even see you at the Ball. Pam Jansons 38

Every pub or bar that supports the scheme will have an Ask for Angela sticker in the front door/window and an Ask for Angela poster in the toilets.
