Betty now full term and in labour, had her baby that night, unfortunately for John it was a girl and they named it Lisa. John thought that a boy was not meant to be, however he didn’t know about the son that Daisy had. Now that Betty had what she wanted, she acted even worse towards April and more selfish in her manor. April’s step brother Arnold hit her for no reason or he’d just pushed her over as he went by; the girls would squabble among themselves, but Betty never bothered. John was a busy man and never noticed any problems and April never told him as she imagined that he wouldn’t believe her. Sam, April’s other step brother was alright. Although she didn’t speak to him much she was going to miss him when he later joined the army. Arnold was at work, but he was very lazy like his mother. Sandra was a little older than April, and baby Lisa. Pearl was also at work, she was the eldest one and was very bossy and always going out.
38 Pearl along with Betty were the people that April blamed for her sisters, May and Jenny, leaving. May often thought about April and when she visited on the weekends she did her best at to cheer April up. They wished they could find their mother, but she must have moved address as they had already tried where she had lived with Mr Simmons. Even Mr Simmons had gone, maybe they moved on together with her baby boy. No one would ever know.
