2018 OLBA Annual

2018 Annual - Safety & Risk Management 17 Medical and Other Emergencies The OLBA has developed guidelines to assist clubs and districts in determining their practices during emergency situations. In situations where sudden changes in weather conditions produce significant storm activity (e.g. high winds and flying debris, driving rain, lightning), the general guidelines issued by local authorities should be followed. Play should be suspended immediately, players called off the green and shelter taken in the club house or other safe location. In cases where a call has been made for emergency medical assistance, the OLBA recommends that: Play be suspended immediately; All teams be required to clear the green; Once assistance has been given, Skips be informed of the situation; If it is the wish of the person affected, or her/his partner, that play continue, Skips be advised of this; The Event Convenor and Skips decide whether to continue play or declare the event complete.
