MEMBERSHIP
MEMBERS GUEST GREEN FEES 2018
The members guest green fees are as detailed below. A member is allowed
to introduce a maximum of three guests at any one time with the exception
of weekend mornings, where a member can only bring one guest before
10.30am. The same individual can be signed in as a guest to play Woburn's
courses up to a maximum of six times within a calendar year.
From 1st April 2018
One round only playing Duke’s, Duchess or Marquess Course
£60 per guest (Weekdays) : £70 per guest (Weekends)
Two rounds playing a choice of two of the three courses
£90 per guest (Weekdays) : £100 per guest (Weekends)
During certain periods of the golfing season stated below,
reduced members guest green fees will be available.
1st April - 31st October 2018 (after 2pm)
One round only playing Duke’s, Duchess or Marquess Course
£40 per guest (Weekdays) : £50 per guest (Weekends)
ANNUAL HANDICAP REVIEW
The Annual Handicap review took place on Thursday 12th January 2018
in which the committee debated any requests made to them for a
handicap adjustment as well as those that were highlighted from their
playing performances in Intelligent Golf.

Wednesday 23rd May : Shotgun Start on Duke’s Course at 10am prompt
Entry Fee £90.00 per pair
To include 18 holes of golf, a three course carvery luncheon and prize presentation.

READY GOLF
As you may be aware in 2017, we made the decision to adopt the concept of
Ready Golf in a selection of our competitions. Ready Golf is an initiative that the
R&A introduced following a survey across the world on all things Pace of Play.
The concept indicates that players should play when they are ready to do so,
rather than adhering strictly to the “farthest from the hole plays first”
stipulation in the Rules of Golf.
Following a number of trials across each of the three courses, in both medal
and Stableford competitions we have seen some very positive results.
We saved an average of twenty minutes per round in comparison to the same
competitions in 2016, subsequently we have adopted Ready Golf as a standard
practice across all sections at the Club, in both competitions, general play as
well as all non-members that visit Woburn.
Please speak with our Outside Services Team who will be pleased to offer
their advice in order to implement Ready Golf into your own groups. If you
continue to embrace Ready Golf as a Membership then you will add to the
enjoyment of your own game as well as others.
READY GOLF GUIDELINES AND TIPS:
Hitting a shot when safe to do so if a player farther away faces
a challenging shot and is taking time to assess their options
•
Shorter hitters playing first from the tee or
fairway if longer hitters have to wait
•
Hitting a tee shot if the person with the
honour is delayed in being ready to play
•
Hitting a shot before helping someone to look for a lost ball
•
Putting out unless you are standing on someone's line
•
Hitting a shot if a person who has just played from a
greenside bunker is still farthest from the hole but is
delayed due to raking the bunker
•
Marking scores upon immediate arrival at the next tee,
except that the first player to tee off marks their card
immediately after teeing off
DOGS
Woburn has been and remains a dog friendly Club. However, we would
like to remind all members that our competition rules are clear and
members are not permitted to take their dogs on the course when
playing in Club competitions.
We would like to remind members to ensure they clean up after their
dogs, and keep them under control at all times.
With the exception of the walkway through from the main
entrance to the locker rooms, members are
reminded not to bring
their dogs into
the clubhouse.
KNOCKOUT COMPETITIONS
The Summer knockout competitions are well
underway and the first rounds are now being played.
We would like to make members aware of
the knockout rules on the website and more
importantly, that all golfers must have active
handicaps by the time their first round is played.
