Dr. Karki with her

Dr. Karki with her family Who is one person you remember from your childhood days and why? My mother. My childhood memory is filled with the moments with her that I revisit in retrospection. She is one person who always encouraged me to pursue education despite the fact she did not have any experience of formal education. It is through her, I learnt the value of womanhood. Any game you remember from childhood. There is not any such game. But I do remember the countless fights with my siblings. Yes, I used to be quite a sport. (Laughs) Sunset or sunrise? Why? I should go with Sunrise, not that I have contemplated any of them but because I have not watched as many Sunsets as I have watched the Sunrise. Namaste or handshake? Namaste. It has a divine significance. Do you have any phobia? Not really, but I am terrified at the thought that I might have to lose my dear ones. Is there a time when you did not feel like going to work? Not because I felt lazy, but I have not been to my office to avoid distractions. You know you have to meet people and lots of time goes in the intermittent talking. I don’t mean it is always so, just sometimes when I can’t find time for important issues that need my attention. So if I don’t feel like going to the office, that would be because I’d bring home my work(mostly paperworks) and get it done. Brands you like. Not a brand person, but I like Monte Carlo. If you had any superpower, what would that be and how’d you utilise it? I’d control people’s minds and only inject positive thoughts. Your strength and weakness My family, as both. Your hidden talent. I sing and I write songs. Any two characteristics you admire in a person? Politeness and Honesty. What should everyone do everyday? Exercise, eat healthy and be grateful. An apple a day, keeps the doctor away, is this offending? (Laughs) Why, no. In fact, it is a good thing to say because apple is good for health. What do you think is the most troubling first world problem? That mobile phones have become a necessity and we actually cannot function without one. What do you think makes anyone a true feminist? When a woman stands for herself and for her kinds. What would be the title of your autobiography? Mailey Sikeka Kuraharu. Your message to the world. Serve humanity from where you stand by whatever means you can, be organic, and responsible, live simple and be responsible. 12 Versatile | MARCH-CHAITRA 2018
