There are green Bubi bikes at 112 stations
city-wide. They are pretty heavy but the first
30 minutes of each use are free of charge.

BOAT SERVICES
Several small public transport boats are going
up and down the river during day light hours,
docking at stations in Pest and Buda alternately

is subject to change depending on weather
and water level conditions.
AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION
The Budapest Airport has two international
terminals, Terminal 2A and 2B. See www.bud.

Airport Minibus Service miniBUD: A shared
ride service that picks passengers up at any
address in Budapest. For travel to hotels or
within the city center, a ride costs HUF 3,900
per person one way, and HUF 6,900 for a return

Airport Taxi Service: Multiple taxi companies
drive Budapest Airport passengers to and from
all city destinations. They offer fixed maximum
prices depending on the distance traveled
from the airport, with HUF 4,500 being an average
price for an airport to city center transfer.
Public Transportation: There is a direct bus
(no.100E) every half hour between the airport
and Deák square. Another bus (200E) takes
you to the ‘blue line’ metro (Kőbánya-Kispest)
that goes into the city.

… SEASONAL ACTIVITY When guests
would like to get away from the busy city,
I always recommend the Kopaszi dam.
Located on the Buda side near Rákóczi
Bridge this neat little park is the perfect place
for a day spent outdoors. This lush green
spot by the river Danube is popular with
locals too: quite a few people come here for
bike rides, walks or picnics in good weather.
There is also a choice of restaurants and
bistros, to grab a relaxed lunch or dinner.
…STREET I really like the neighborhood of
Jászai Mari square and Hollán Ernő street.
The area is charming and has many small,
independent shops, cafés and eateries. I love
it that you can find real curiosities like oldfashioned
hat shops. For antique shops and
art galleries, head towards Falk Miksa utca,
while Pozsonyi utca is the perfect place for
great food or cup of quality coffee. Budapest
Jazz Club is also located nearby, which offers
live jazz concerts almost daily.
… MARKET Though Central Market Hall
seems an obvious choice, there are other
refurbished, small markets worth a visit.
My favorite one is Belvárosi Piac, located
in Hold utca. While the ground floor looks
like any other market hall with stalls full of
fresh produce, the first floor has the best
street food eateries - often the little sisters of
renowned downtown restaurants. Make sure
to try Stand 25, which belongs to Michelinawarded
and Bocuse d’Or winner chef,
Tamás Széll, and go for the gulyás!
