Students Currently In 3rd Grade Summer School Class Selection Eligibility for Classes Listed Below: Students who are currently in 3rd Grade Directions for Registration: Complete the summer school online registration as outline on page 2 of this brochure. Please note that some courses have a class limit due to technology requirements and/or staffing. We created the course option schedule based on previous year’s enrollment. If you have any questions about online registration, please call 414-294-7406. Travel the States Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: Get your passport ready! During this enrichment class, students will virtually travel around the world while learning about the cultures of many countries along the way. This class will engage students through virtual field trips, music, stories, and projects. Awesome adventures will take place while kids fill their “passports” along the Artist's Workshop Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: This class will expose the children to various styles in art. Working in both two and three dimensions, the children will paint, sketch, create art in the style of the world’s great cultures, and experience a wonderful, artistic adventure. Reading Improvement Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: The mastery of basic skills in reading/language arts is essential to success in school. You'll be receiving a letter from your school if this course is appropriate for your child. Math Improvement Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: The mastery of basic skills in mathematics is essential to success in school. You'll be receiving a letter from your school if this course is Leadership & Sportsmanship Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: This class—for boys and girls— consists of a variety of sports. Sports introduced include: football, basketball, soccer, track and field, volleyball, baseball, and badminton. In this team-taught class, students learn how to develop positive competitive attributes. Students learn how to implement skills necessary to be successful in that sport. Students learn how to use conflict resolution strategies. Each class concludes with a group discussion and reflection of the day’s activities. Students are required to write a journal entry for each day of class and for other out-of-class experiences. Students must register at their current grade level. Current grade level is student’s grade during the 17-18 school year.

Fun With Technology Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: In this class, we have the chance to get creative with a variety of web tools, such as Voki, Comic Creator, and SMART software. Students will also learn how to surf the net safely and explore kidfriendly sites. Our keyboarding skills get better, too. Junior Spanish Club Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: Students will learn basic Spanish words, including colors, numbers, the alphabet, months, days of the week, and animals and foods. Students will be able to relay information using basic sentences. Backyard Games Eligibility: Students in Grade 3 Description: Students will learn a variety of games played outdoors including Capture the Flag, Color Tag, Poison Ball, etc. Whether it be competition or an interactive activity, students will be equipped with a variety of games that they can bring home to family Birding Wisconsin! Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: Students will be immersed in the hobby of birding. Their interest in birds and their observations through seeing them, watching them and learning to identify them will be sparked. Students will also learn about bats in or area, the issues they face Learning English as a Second Language Nutritious is Delicious Eligibility: Students currently in Grade 3 Description: This class offers students the opportunity to learn about the food groups, read recipes, eat healthy, make healthy snacks, and to exercise as a part of their daily routine. Eligibility: Students in grade 3 Description: Students who are learning English as a second language will continue to build their English skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students must register at their current grade level. Current grade level is student’s grade during the 17-18 school year.
