With two very successful social events behind us, the Winter Gala and the March Madness Mixer, we now switch gears in April and concentrate on education. The SCA Board of Directors has made April SCA President Steve Moore, PE, CASp Barrish Pelham & Associates, Inc. our official “Education Luncheon” month. Continuing on from the success of last year’s “Lift Your Luck” presentation, we hope to provide more “real life tools” and practical knowledge for all of our SCA Members. The SCA is proud to present Mr. Peter Meza, an Associate Insurance Compliance Officer, from the State of California Department of Insurance. Peter will concentrate the first part of his presentation on the innerworkings of the DOI in hopes of providing some new and valuable information for both adjusters and vendors regarding property claims. Peter will also be discussing a new initiative program specifically geared towards our vendor members! Of course, an anticipated question and answer session will follow! And then there was May and the SCA’s annual Golf Tournament! On Friday, May 11, 2018, at Turkey Creek Golf Course let the big, beautiful, and bizarre hat contest begin! With Mathieu Schwartz once again leading the pack this should be a successful event for everyone! Please check the SCA website for available sponsorships and/or enter a foursome to play in the tournament. Please remember you must have paid your 2018 SCA Membership dues in order to participate in the tournament. Speaking of SCA Membership, the SCA’s annual Membership drive is nearing its’ end for 2018, so please be sure to renew your individual or corporate Memberships! If you are already a Member and know of someone interested in seeing what the SCA can offer them, please direct them to our website at www.sacramentoclaims. org, or have them contact a Board Member. Looking forward to seeing everyone in April and May! Thank you for your continued support of our association! In this month’s Engineers News, we highlight some of the work our members are doing near Reno, Nev. on the important South East Connector project. This project has been needed for a long time, and the skill of our members and our responsible signatory contractors are finally making it happen.
