Oil Painting for Beginners
Learn fundamental oil painting techniques used for centuries
since the development of the medium. Working from a still-life,
you will develop a painting in stages and layers. During this
process, various painting techniques will be introduced such as
imprimatura, scumbling, glazing, and others. Each class begins
with a brief description of the particular technique as well as
a demonstration by the instructor. Explore important painting
techniques, such as: color mixing, color value, composition,
glazing, brushwork, paint application, texture, and more. You
will spend the majority of the class painting, during which the
instructor will offer help and critique. This class will help you to
express yourself with oils whether you want to paint still life,
landscape, abstraction, or whatever inspires you most. Canvas
and paints provided. Youth 15+ may register.

Watercolor Painting for Beginners
Would you like to paint in watercolor but don’t know where to
start? In this class, you will learn basic watercolor techniques
that will help you create your own painting of still life. In
this three session class, we’ll cover color mixing, application
techniques and fun watercolor effects. You’ll receive personal
guidance from a local artist, who exhibits and sells her artwork,
to help you on your way to becoming a watercolor painter.
Tuition includes a watercolor paint set with brushes to take
home and water color paper for class. Youth 15+ may register.

Children in the Middle
Changes in family structure through dissolution of marriage,
custody modification, and remarriage are difficult experiences
for a child. Children in the Middle is a four-hour, court-ordered
seminar providing education and affirmation for parents, with
the primary focus on children’s needs. Topics include: parenting
skills for divorcing parents, a child’s needs and survival
techniques, health versus problematic reactions of most kids,
age specific needs of your children, and identifying how your
child feels. Children are not allowed to attend class.
