Transact XML 5. Select Unicode: UTF-8 from the Message Encoding drop-down list. 6. Type notes in the Mailing Notes text box (optional). 7. Select a tracking level. The Unique tracking level is automatic for links within the template and Engage will track them. If you provide a Link Name, hyperlinks submitted in the XML Submit document are automatically tracked. 8. Click the Save button in the upper-right area of the page. Task 2: Add the Content to the Mailing Now you're ready to add the content to your mailing. Go to the Mailings topic in Online Help for detailed steps. Notes: • Multiple body types (MIME format) are not sent. Only the body type designated in the XML Submit document will be sent. • If you want to send text mailings and HTML mailings, you must create separate mailing templates and separate Automated Messages for the different types of mailings. However, you can use the same database for either mailing type. • To compose using HTML, you can paste the HTML code into the form, or you can upload a file from your computer (click the Import HTML button). You can also include hyperlinks in the form, as long as they are in proper HTML format. • You can add hyperlinks in the XML CDATA code. When you click Save, the hyperlinks will be converted to a Transact-compatible link. To edit the link, click the Hyperlinks tab to display the Edit form. • You can include Personalization by selecting the appropriate button on the toolbar. • You cannot use Social Network Share or Relational Table Data. Task 3: Automate the Mailing You must automate the mailing template after activating the Group of Automated Messages. This will assign the mailing to that group. 23 www.silverpop.com 1-866-SILVPOP (745-8767) © 2012 Silverpop Systems Inc. All rights reserved.
