PATIENT INFORMATION Mammography is the basic imaging method and essential in the diagnosis of breast disease, the only one recognized asa screening technique for breast cancer, allowing its early detection, and the only one that has shown a reduction in mortality rates. BACKGROUND PATTERNS (the type of pattern conditions, in large part, the sensitivity of the mammogram): • TYPE A: Breast with percentage of glandular tissue 75%. Approximate sensitivity for the detection of breast cancer = 48%. OBSERVATIONS mammograms of rutna. BI-RADS SYSTEM: • Many peripheral injuries may not have been covered in the projections • Tangible alterations not visible or described in the present radiological exploration have to be reevaluated clinically in case tests or procedures are necessary complementary • The presence of "dense" background patterns (C and D) makes it advisable to complete the study radiological with other procedures, such as breast ultrasound and / or tomosynthesis. SYSTEM BI-R On 1993 the American College of Radiology (ACR) developed the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS), a method to classify mammographic findings. Today it is considered the universal language in the diagnosis of breast disease.
