Three-year Capital Plan approved for 2017-2021
News release
The Prairie Land Regional Division
(PLRD) Board passed a motion to
approve the 2017-2021 Three-year
Capital Plan and concurrently the
most pressing structural needs
throughout the division within our
facilities at their March 20 meeting.
The Delia School rebuild/modernization
still remains our top priority as
a result of the identified structural
issues that presents itself.
Morrin School has been recognized
as our second priority as a result of
heaving floors and foundational issues
under the gymnasium.
The next items that have been identified
are J.C. Charyk Hanna School
roofing replacement as this process
was not a part of the school modernization
project; Altario School building
envelope and mechanical upgrade, and
finally the Youngstown School
building envelope upgrade.
Advocacy Plan and Strategic Plan
The Board reviewed the revised
Board Advocacy and Strategic Plan.
Trustees have identified three key
goals that will create positive change
PLRD
for students within PLRD as a result of
their Advocacy Plan.
During their 2017-2021 term, the
Board will be advocating for appropriate
funding for rural school
divisions, creating an understanding
both locally and provincially for the
value of one publically-funded system,
and creating partnerships and relationships
with municipalities and
other local organizations.
The Division Strategic Plan has
identified the three Division Focal
Points (Teaching and Learning,
Health and Wellness, and Culture) for
the 2018-2021
Three-year
Divisional
Improvement
Plan.
congratulate the students from Altario
and Consort Schools whom received
Minus 12 Celsius temperatures with an added wind chill factor was not what is planned for the start of many
spring farm sales in east central Alberta. Winter not yet over created problems getting ready for Steve Link’s farm
sale on April 5 as they dug equipment out of snow banks in preparation for the sale. Hardy prairie sale-goers,
however, know how to dress for the weather.
