The Hours 

UNIQUE PIECES HANDMADE IN ITALY 

Travelling is at the center of my world. 

New faces, images and flavors indelibly enter my memory: 

a unique opportunity for enrichment, 

I recall them in my creations with all the evocative 

power they deserve. 

A closer look shows a leitmotif running 

through my work, each jewel arising from the combination 

of objets trouvés I collect during my travels 

and precious materials 

I personally choose and compound. 

A love letter, antique English buttons, 

Chinese boules from the 1800s, vintage chips 

from american casinos: found in a drawer, discovered 

in antique shops and flea markets or visiting 

collectors around the world, 

they are skillfully set with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, 

surrounded by gold cast in different colors, 

ultimately giving birth to unique jewelry pieces. 

This is my challenge: 

conceive and create one-of-a-kind jewels, 

each of which containing a world in miniature, 

the result of a marriage between unexpected distant worlds 

but which, brought together, become something 

unique and unrepeatable.

UNIQUE PIECES - HANDMADE IN ITALY 

The collection is based on my passion for 

vintage objects: the little soldiers characterizing the 

collection have been originally produced in Germany 

during the first decades of the last century. 

Initially created for children, they soon became 

pieces for collectors: people from all over the world still 

consider them irresistible, and so do I! 

Every soldier is hand-painted, with an extreme 

attention for details characterizing the different 

uniforms of armies from many countries around the 

world.

Little birds and gift boxes, colored flowers and 

red apples, teacups and sunny skies unexpectedly 

surround a tin soldier. 

Far away from home, he daydreams of his 

family and his childhood: nostalgic images start 

dancing around him, a magic carousel helping him 

forget the harshness of his life and surrounding him 

with a warm embrace. 

He finally sees himself in the arms of his 

fiancée, the paper ballerina: together they dance, 

smiling. War is far, far away. 

But a boy throws the little soldier into the fire 

- a gust of wind blows the ballerina with him; she is 

consumed at once by the flames but her spangle 

remains. Soon the tin soldier melts into the shape 

of a heart! It’s time for love, never-ending love: it’s 

Joie de Vivre!

FRANCESCA VILLA’S CAPSULE COLLECTION 2016 

HANDMADE IN ITALY 

My first capsule collection: a limited series 

with each piece of jewellery available in a run of 24. 

A dedication to my beloved grandmother 

reminding her birth date in 1924. 

Inspired by the sunny skies of the Sahara 

landscape and the atmosphere of Maghreb, the 

collection combines precious materials of the 

highest quality and Italian artisan abilities. 

Luxurious brown diamonds are set in delicate 

curving files echoing the warm hues and rich 

textures of the desert.

It is told that three Arab girls coming from the 

mountains had a single great dream: to drink tea in the 

Sahara desert. 

So, they put all the money they had together 

and had themselves taken into the desert where, 

moving from dune to dune, they went in search of the 

highest one. 

They would later be found by a caravan in the 

same pose in which they had fallen asleep, with their 

cups still full of sand.
