36 Tri-Service EXHIBITION ZONE Airbourne is proud to welcome the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and British Army who are represented over this fantastic four day event. Meet the recruiting teams on the Western Lawns, climb aboard a Chinook or picture yourself in the RAF and have fun dressing up in official uniform and pose in the photobooth - say cheese! Royal Air Force 1. RAF Regiment Come along and meet the RAF Regiment Recruiting Team and learn what it’s like as a RAF Regiment Gunner. 2. 90 Signals Unit - The unit brings together three separate communications - Air Combat Service Support Units, Expeditionary Radar & Airfield Support, Information Services Support Unit and Tactical Communications Wing. 3. RAF Motorsport - Meet an RAF engineer and chef who swap their busy day jobs for motor bike racing! 4. Tactical Supply Wing - Discover more about air-to-air refuelling. 5. Squadron 5131: Bomb Disposal - See the bomb disposal robots and more. 6. Sussex Wing RAF Cadets - Find out more about gaining real flight experience with the RAF cadets and test your fitness and agility on the RAF climbing wall! 7. Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) - You’ve seen them over-head, now find out more about the history of these iconic aircraft. 8. Royal Air Forces Association - Supporting the welfare of the RAF family at times of need. 9. Typhoon Display Team - See the team and discover more about one of the RAF’s most important fast jets. 10. RAF Chinook - Climb aboard a replica Chinook, meet the recruiting team, dress in RAF uniform and then pose in the photobooth! 11. RAF Benevolent Fund - The RAF’s leading welfare charity offering financial, practical and emotional support to all members of the RAF family. 12. Royal Air Forces Association Spitfire See this newly refurbished Spitfire facsimile. 13. Red Arrows Aerobatic Team - Meet the famous Blues, the engineers behind one of the world’s premier aerobatic teams. Also don’t forget you can meet the pilots on Friday 12th August (afternoon only). Meet the Army Recruiting Team Showcasing some of the modern equipment and vehicles used by the various Regular and Reserve Units in YOUR British Army. 15. Royal Military Police Car – Meet The RMP and discover about a career in the Special Investigation Branch (SIB) and Close Protection (CP). 16. AGC Lion Mascot – Meet our mascot! 17. Royal Armoured Corps – The Household Cavalry and Royal Armoured Corps is recruiting, Regular (full-time) and Reserve, the Yeomanry (part-time), soldiers and officers. Find out about a challenging and exciting career with us. 18. Revised Weapons Mounted Installation Kit See this lightly-armoured, highly-mobile fire support and force protection Land Rover. 19. Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment – See the Tigers Parachute Display Team jumping into the airshow and meet their Regimental Support Team with an interesting military display stand. They are a mix of regular soldiers and Army Reserve soldiers with the reserve soldiers coming from Eastbourne and the surrounding area. Navy 20. Mobile Recruiting Vehicle Come along and find out about careers in the Royal Navy. Advisors will be on hand to talk to young people and parents about pursuing a career in the service. 21. Harrier - Climb aboard and handle the controls of a Harrier jump jet cockpit - a great photo opportunity for the kids. 22. Gazelle Helicopter - During the Falklands War, the Gazelle played a valuable role operating from the flight decks of Royal Navy ships. Come and have look at this helicopter which has been in service since 1974. The Skeeter helicopter was a twoseat training and scout helicopter produced by Saunders-Roe (“Saro”) of Cowes and Southampton, in the United Kingdom. Take a look at this version on the Western Lawns. 23. The Royal Navy Historic Flight Established at the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton in 1972 in order to preserve Naval heritage, and to be a living memorial to all Fleet Air Arm personnel, especially those who gave their lives in maintaining the freedom of our nation.
