Architect and urbanist, Full Professor of Urbanism at the Department of Architecture<br />
of the University of Naples Federico II. He is the author of several urban,<br />
regional, and landscape plans and projects, which include the masterplan for the<br />
eastern area of Naples, the Vesuvius national park plan, and the city plan and strategic<br />
projects of Rome. He directed the research group of the University of Naples<br />
in the PRIN National Research Project Re-Cycle: New Life Cycles for Architecture<br />
and Infrastructure of City and Landscape. He is member of the executive board<br />
for the Istituto Nazionale di Urbanistica (INU) and member of the scientific board<br />
of Associazione Nazionale Centri Storici e Artistici (ANCSA). He has published<br />
numerous pieces of research, monographs, and essays on the contemporary<br />
city and on themes of landscape and ecological regeneration. He is a member<br />
of various scientific and advisory boards of international magazines and journals,<br />
including The Plan Journal, Monograph.it, Urbanistica, and Portus Plus. Recent<br />
