6 CHELSEA FC STADIUM

6 CHELSEA FC STADIUM TOURS OF STAMFORD BRIDGE For visitors to London, a tour of Stamford Bridge is not to be missed. Home of the Blues, it’s a fun, informative and unforgettable experience enjoyed by sports fans of all ages from all over the world. The guided hour-long tour will take you behind the scenes at one of the world’s greatest football clubs, giving visitors access to areas normally reserved for players and officials. Along the way you will visit various stands in the stadium, the press room, home and away dressing rooms, the tunnel and dug-out areas. All tours include entry to the Museum, giving the chance to see how Chelsea has evolved on and off the pitch over the years. Chelsea pride themselves on having guides who are both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the club and it's their passion that make the tours a truly memorable experience. Whilst at the Stadium, have lunch at Chelsea's very own Frankie's Sports Bar & Diner as part of the Tour and Lunch package. Frankie's is an American style sports bar, with 12 big screens. The menu includes American favourites, including pizza, burgers and New York cheesecake. You can enjoy all your favourite sports while enjoying lunch after a tour around Stamford Bridge. A combined Tour and Lunch package includes a full stadium tour, entrance to the Chelsea FC Museum and a twocourse lunch from a set menu in Frankie's Sports Bar & Diner. Other options are available, including the Ex-Players Tour, where you will be guided by an ex-Chelsea player. There will be an opportunity to ask as many questions as you like, as well as grab autographs and pictures. Photos: Getty Images BONINGTON: MOUNTAINEER In Bonington: Mountaineer Keith Partridge and Brian Hall have created a moving visual memoir on one of the world's most celebrated mountaineers and adventurers, Sir Chris Bonington. With a discerning eye that can only come from filmmakers with a lifetime of experience in the mountain film industry, this feature length documentary expertly tackles the sensitive subjects of loss, love and legacy climbing the world's most challenging peaks, including The Eiger North Face; Annapurna; Everest; K2; Central Tower of Paine; Ogre; Freney Pillar, Mont Blanc; Kongur and Nuptse. 'Bonington Mountaineer’ is a deep, personal and emotional reflection on a lifetime spent pursuing one's own ambitions on the hardest and highest mountains. To summarise Chris's prolific climbing career in a single film is no mean feat. Add to the mix the rich ensemble of colourful characters with whom he partnered on his dozens of expeditions alongside a complex family story and this film could easily have been a series. In 80 captivating minutes we are taken on an eighty year journey through many triumphs and more than one's fair share of tragedy. The film instils an incredibly positive outlook, reflecting Chris's own, and inspires one to get out in the hills and chase our own adventures. It made me laugh and made me cry.' – Leo Houlding. A screening at the Royal Geographical Society on 19 April (19.00), will support the work of Community Action Nepal, a UK based charity whose aim is to help some of the poorest people on the planet – the mountain people of Nepal. t h i s i s l o n d o n m a g a z i n e • t h i s i s l o n d o n o n l i n e
