From his obituary: A prominent general merchant and farmer of Aaldersville, Lunenburg County died at his home in that community last night, following an illness extending over the last six months. He graduated from The American Institute of Banking in New York City, became active and well-known in New York Banking Circles, and was a member of the American Bankers Assn. at the time of his retirement, he was manager and trust officer of The Royal Bank Trust Co. of New York City. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite, of Shoreham, Vermont; three daughters, Mrs Barbara Huntington of Fallston, Md; Mrs Elizabeth Johnsen of Ramsey, N.J. and Mrs. Lucille Ionno of West New York,N.J; 16 grandchildren; a sister Mrs.Stanley Langille of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, and a brother Howard S. Notes for Edgar Norwood Burgoyne: Obituary: Burgoyne, Edgar Norwood - 81,respected resident and retired farmer of Aaldersville, died Monday, Oct 4, 1958 following a four-day illness. Mr. Burgoyne, who was a life-long resident of the community in which he resided, was the son of the late Benjamin and Mary Ann Burgoyne. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Hiltz, Aaldersville; two sons; Clinton and Ray, Aaldersville; four daughters, Eva (Mrs. Aldon Durling) Kentville; Helen (Mrs. Floyd Smith) Aylesford; Edith and Mary, at home, one sister Mrs. George Hatchard, Aaldersville, and three grandchildren. Funeral service was held at St James Anglican Church, Aaldersville, on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30,with Rev Mr. Logan officiating. Burial was in the Aaldersville Cemetery. Notes for Florence May Hiltz: Obituary: Mrs. Florence May Burgoyne, 78, of Aaldersville, Lunenburg County, died Oct 19,1969 at the Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville, yesterday. Born in Lake Ramsey, she was the daughter of Samuel and Ada (Gates) Hiltz. She is survived by two sons, Clifton and Ray, Aaldersville; four daughters, Eva (Mrs. Aldon Durling), Edith (Mrs. Alvin Russell), both of North Alton; Helen (Mrs. Floyd Smith), Aylesford: Mary (Mrs. James Walsh) Granville Centre: three brothers, Terly, Forties: John, Kentville: Laurie, Lake Ramsey: one sister, Mellish. Her husband Edgar, and one sister are dead. The body is at the W.C. Hiltz Funeral Home, Kentville. Interment will be in Aaldersville Cemetery.
