Kotti-Shop-Zine (in progress)

Kotti-Shop SpaceLab & Kotti L‘Amour: Wir wohnen, wie wir wollen (We decide, how we reside) Participatory installation: architecture-based collaged history, collage postcards, mapping and reportage photographers as slide projections with interview-based text excerpts | concept & artistic direction: Stefan Endewardt and Julia Brunner | in the context of the exhibition „Wohnungsfrage“ of the HKW (Haus der Kulturen der Welt), Berlin, 2015 | Kotti-Shop Berlin, 2015 The starting point for the installation was an intensive examination by the residents of the Neue Kreuzberger Zentrum of their living space, Kottbusser Tor. Based on a detailed mapping, they surveyed and investigated the spaces and areas of tension in the social structure using artistic methods. This analysis resulted in statements that both reflect the situation on site, and formulate wishes and visions of the future for the location: what does living mean to us? How do we want to live? What is so special about Kottbusser Tor, one of the most complex places in Berlin? What conflicts exist there? Who‘s inside? Who‘s outside? What bridges need to be built between the different groups?
