A chef at Levy Restaurants approached me to
design a QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) concept
inspired by the flavors of Far East Asia. What
better inspiration to draw from than the outdoor
markets in Thailand, Vietnam, etc. The energy of
the street is transported into Flash Rooster. The
colors, materials, and culinary fare are all
indicative of authentic Far East Asian street food
and culture. Welcome to Flash Rooster where we
are serving up some “Farout fare from the Far
East”.
Location: Atlanta, GA [GWCC]
Role: Design Lead [Branding + Identity, Architectural Design]
Our friends over at the GWCC (Georgia World Congress Center)
in Atlanta wanted us to re-concept an existing Starbucks space
into a dual purpose coffee shop and bar. In the morning hours
the space would act as a coffee shop and in the evening
transform into a bar/lounge. We designed a space that evoked
the charm of a coffee shop while still maintaining the industrial
cool of a city bar. The juxtaposition of warm wood and copper
finshes along with some ornamental tables you might find in
your grandmas basement and mid century Eames chairs gives
the space a cool vibe without trying too hard.
Role: Design Lead [Branding + Identity, Architectural Design]
The Denver Nuggets approached Levy Restaurants to help
in designing an underutilized group sales/restaurant space
on the Club Level at Pepsi Center in Denver Colordao.
Being such a large footprint it made sense to create a
zoning strategy and establish functions for each zone. The
use of partitions helped to shape the space and define
the dining, lounging and group sales areas creating a
multi-functional space for groups of all sizes.
The design is equal parts physical and mental. We want to
mentally engage and lead our audience prior to the
Huawei experience. Once attendeeshave arrived, they will
find an experience that treats them to a well defined
journey that strategically positions the brand promise and
product proof. All paths lead to the center of a better
connected world. Once they find their cnter, the answers
they seek, reveal themselves.
It’s about connections.
