Villa Chardonnay Horses With Wings, Inc. WHY SANCTUARIES NEED YOUR HELP ! The Furry babies of Villa Chardonnay would like to express their gratitude to your remarkable foundations. In this day and age more and more companies and foundations grant funds helping animal rescues however there are less and less that help sanctuaries. Do you know what is the difference between a rescue and a sanctuary? A rescue will rehabilitate and re-home an animal. That is great and wonderful when that happens but what happens to the old and permanently injured animals that are unwanted and are no good to people because they can’t be ridden or they are blind or deaf or walk with a limp or have 3 legs, or animals with cancer or other diseases that still have a chance in life to recover but owners cannot longer want or cannot afford. Not because of those reasons animals should be send to slaughter or put down and increase the number to the list of the many thousands that get killed every day for being unwanted or abandoned. We have rescued animals from shelters as well as rescues because the horses weren’t a good fit or the owners discovered that they had some imperfection or. If we didn’t take them, they would have been put down or end up being purchased by a kill buyer. Is it fair because they are old and can’t be rehomed that they are ignored and organizations don’t want to help them. They are like the misfits of Santa’s workshop in Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer. They have the same heart of the young but the need of care and love of the elderly. Please consider giving the unwanted, the elderly, the handicapped animals the chance to retire and live their last years in a sanctuary. All animals deserve a second chance and that is what we do at Villa Chardonnay – giving them the second chance to live surrounded by love and special care – Please help us to keep helping them ! 2017 Annual Report 11 www.villachardonnay.org
