April 2018

Village teaching and preaching is the heart of this ministry! Acts of Mercy Africa Jim and Terri Cannon Serving in the villages of western Uganda Email: April 2018 Masaka, Uganda Rejoicing over the lives given to Christ this month! Every Monday and Wednesday morning Jim shares as a chaplain with Bro. Patrick and Bro. Paul to the HIV/AIDS patients who are in treatment with the Ugandan government TASO program. In our province alone over 9,000 men, women and children (from babies to the elderly!) are affected by this virus and its prevalence is rising again in the younger populations. The second week of April we had four people ask to receive Christ on Monday, and another gentleman on Wednesday! We were able to give them all Bibles in the Lugandan language thanks to you, our wonderful missions partners! Bro. Patrick is very good at making sure they attend a church and are discipled. God is doing great things as we share hope and truth. Uganda has a high population of Muslims, most are born into a Muslim family and have never heard the Gospel, and they too are affected by this virus. When they give their lives to Christ, many, many are persecuted and forced from their homes, even if they are children! Pray for God to bless this ministry to those suffering with this virus. Jim celebrated his 61 st Birthday on April 1 st , which was also Easter Sunday. He celebrated by handing out sweets to the little ones at our home church here in Masaka, where we attend when we are not in the villages. We continue to minister in churches in our district, teaching and preaching, encouraging and sharing with fellow believers and evangelizing communities with the Good News!
