Established in 2004, Plastics in Construction Ltd is
a leading UK specialist in designing and installing
glazed structures, with an excellent track record
in providing practical and attractive canopies and
walkways for all kinds of applications, across

Ian Mackie, Plastics in Contruction Ltd Managing
Director, takes up the story. “Having already
spent much of my working life in the rooflight
industry, I saw a major growth in the requirement
for free-standing covered walkways and entrance
canopies. My experience of working with UV
protected solid and multiwall polycarbonate
sheets led me to focus the business on designing
solutions using these materials, hence the
company name. Polycarbonate is an excellent
glazing material offering a combination of
durability and long service life with flexibility,
allowing a high degree of design freedom.”
He continued: “We designed our own system
of extrusions with a unique push-on cap giving
excellent aesthetics and this gave us a strong
advantage which helped to establish the business.
