PRIMARY, SECONDARY, POST-16 & SEN OFFERS Trestle Theatre Company Project Name Mask & Physical Theatre CPD About the Project Trestle Theatre Company (Trestle) is a mask and physical theatre company with a highly regarded arts education programme. As a charity, our mission is to inspire people’s creativity through participation and dialogue. This offer outlines our highly acclaimed mask and physical theatre CPD day. These are developed from our work on the Middlesex University Education MA and PGCE Programmes. The CPD will cover a mix of the following: Mask and Half Mask This section strengthens your practice of using Trestle full and half masks as a tool for both theatre and social development. The work consists of experiencing exercises and teaching techniques to develop physical awareness, mask performance and creative devising. Physical Theatre This section will teach you to work imaginatively with storytelling, using body, voice and mind to devise and create dynamic theatre. Participants will discover new ways of creating and teaching physical languages with which to make rich visual and physical performance, covering a range of styles and practitioners. The workshops will be developed to accommodate the participants’ needs and specialisms. If there is a large uptake we may split the day between primary and secondary teachers. Suitability This is suitable for teachers of KS2-5. Dates, Location & Format Wednesday 7 November 2018, High House Production Park, Purfleet between 13:30-17:30. The learning outcomes for this project are varied and will be tailored to the needs of the group. Learning Outcomes Each workshop aims to give participants the confidence to work with students using Trestle’s expertise and their own creative abilities to make exciting mask and physical theatre. 51
