Squirrels rummaging through your bird feeders? Need a Craftsman Edger/Trimmer, pool toys, and a wedding present? Saturday morning tee time rained out and you want a fun alternative? Then the new ACE Hardware located at 4379 NC-211 near Seven Lakes Drive is the place you need to go! Family-owned and operated, ACE Hardware is not just another hardware store catering to the weekend handyman. Owner Randy Saunders calls it a “Destination store.” Once you get there you will want to stay. Of course, the store sells the typical ‘man tools,’ but Seven Lakes ACE Hardware also carries Soy Company candles, Viv&Lou bags and accessories, Ty beanie babies, and FinchBerry Soapery. All which explains why you will frequently hear the men asking: “Has anyone seen my spouse??” Randy and Jill Saunders, Randy’s sister, Kathy (Saunders) Hooper and business partner Randy West make up the team that own Seven Lakes ACE Hardware. They are also the owner-operators of the very successful Southern Pines Ace Hardware on NC HWY 22 near Airport Road, which opened in 2016. Expansion was in the Saunders’ blood. The Saunders’ roots run deep in Moore County – going all the way back to the 1800’s – and onward into Randy and Kathy’s youth when they remember visiting the original Seven Lakes Hardware store with their grandfather. For Randy and Kathy, it seemed a natural transition to run a family business close to home. “The aim of our Seven Lakes store is to cater to the needs of the community,” states Saunders. Fishing and boating gear, knives and ammo, custom-built grill units, lumber, and an extensive line of supplies for birding enthusiasts are just a sampling of what the store carries. Keep a watch out for upcoming special events, such as “Taste of ACE” and “Ladies Night.” ACE Seven Lakes is a full-service hardware store that will give you more than just 13,500 square feet of cool stuff – like onion goggles and the Big Green Egg platinum grill. The store aims to give you a reason to shop there beyond picking up light bulbs and motor oil. “Exceptional customer service is what sets us apart from similar-type stores,” says Randy. “Our management is well-versed in our product lines. Our fl oor personnel are hard workers, quick-thinkers, and trained to direct you towards what you need.” “More importantly,” assures Randy, “you won’t spend most of your time looking for someone to assist you!” The new store in town: Magnolia Home Paint by Joanna Gaines from the TV series “Fixer Upper!” Yeti drinkware.
