GEO DEPARTMENT OF GEOSCIENCEs The course will focus on geological and geophysical workflows such as interpreting well and surface picks, generate synthetics, horizon and fault interpretation, incorporating petrophysical data and mapping events in the context of a structural framework. Objectives: • Interpret horizons and auto track in multiple views • Generate a synthetic using the Well-Tie Workflow • Interpret faults in multiple views • Generate polygons and fault polygons • Calculate seismic attributes • Produce a vector map • Perform various calculations with horizons • Produce a velocity model • Create stratigraphic columns • Perform surface and fault pick interpretation in multiple views • Apply domain conversion to data • Interpret lithology within a well correlation view • Calculate and edit log curves from existing logs • Calculate pay from log curves • Grid and contour using various data types • Produce a structural framework with fault and conformance relationships • Calculate volumetrics using a structural framework • Geosteer a well using Horizontal Well Correlation 11 January 2018 Briefing & Training - Olympus Portable XRD Application Organiser Department of Geosciences Venue Faculty of Geosciences, University Teknologi PETRONAS Participants - Staff All Geoscience Department Staff Let us introduce to you the only Portable XRD in the world! Olympus Terra Portable XRD. XRD Analysers provide qualitative and quantitative material characterization for detection, identification, analysis, quality control, process control, regulatory compliance, and screening, for metals and alloys, mining and geology, scrap and recycling, environmental and consumer safety, education and research, and general manufacturing. Recent advances in XRD sample holders and X-ray sources have allowed for the development of portable XRD devices where the sample preparation is simpler and does not require regular calibration by technical experts. This seminar will provide information on a range of XRD applications, as well as focusing on the technology and data processing of portable XRD. Olympus Portable XRD Applicaon for Geoscience.
