They also joined in a Youth Issues Forum, an open discussion about important topics, led and moderated by Mayor Jacobs. The top issues included regional infrastructure, social services and public safety. Following the forum, Mayor Jacobs was presented an award by Orange County’s Neighborhood Preservation & Revitalization Office. She was recognized for her leadership and for creating the conference initiative. n OCPS receives award Orange County Public Schools received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The district was recognized for its comprehensive annual financial report. The award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. n Dream Big 5K for charity The eighth annual Dawn Brancheau Foundation Dream Big 5K will take place April 21 at SeaWorld Orlando. The 3.1-mile scenic course will wind through the theme park, and there will also be a 1-mile Family Fun Walk. Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for youth age 17-younger.
