BULLETIN - Sabbath 4-21-18

Seventh-Day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and holds

certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures.

These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church’s understanding

and expression of the teaching of Scripture. They are meant to permeate

your whole life, growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling

portrait of God. You are invited to explore, experience, and know the

One who desires to make us whole.

24. Christ’s Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary

There is a sanctuary in heaven, the true tabernacle that the Lord set up and not

humans. In it Christ ministers on our behalf, making available to believers the

benefits of His atoning sacrifice offered once for all on the cross. At His

ascension, He was inaugurated as our great High Priest and, began His

intercessory ministry, which was typified by the work of the high priest in the

holy place of the earthly sanctuary. In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period

of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry,

which was typified by the work of the high priest in the most holy place of the

earthly sanctuary. It is a work of investigative judgment which is part of the

ultimate disposition of all sin, typified by the cleansing of the ancient Hebrew

sanctuary on the Day of Atonement. In that typical service the sanctuary was

cleansed with the blood of animal sacrifices, but the heavenly things are

purified with the perfect sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. The investigative

judgment reveals to heavenly intelligences who among the dead are asleep in

Christ and therefore, in Him, are deemed worthy to have part in the first

resurrection. It also makes manifest who among the living are abiding in Christ,

keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and in Him,

therefore, are ready for translation into His everlasting kingdom. This judgment

vindicates the justice of God in saving those who believe in Jesus. It declares

that those who have remained loyal to God shall receive the kingdom. The

completion of this ministry of Christ will mark the close of human probation

before the Second Advent. (Lev. 16; Num. 14:34; Ezek. 4:6; Dan. 7:9-27; 8:13,

14; 9:24-27; Heb. 1:3; 2:16, 17; 4:14-16; 8:1-5; 9:11-28; 10:19-22; Rev. 8:3-5;

11:19; 14:6, 7; 20:12; 14:12; 22:11, 12.)

Welcome to our Guests:

“Education Day”

We welcome each of you to our midst today and especially thank

Mrs. Renee Humphreys, Superintendent of School for the Lake Region

Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Chicago, IL for consenting to be

our guest speaker. We offer our blessing upon each of you who have joined

us in worship today. Our prayer is that you receive the comfort, joy and hope

you so stand in need of and invite you to join us again for a Holy Spirit filled

worship experience.

What is TRUE Education?

True education means more than the pursuit of a certain course of study. It

means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the

whole being and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the

harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers.

It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher

joy of wider service in the world to come. (Ellen G. White - Education, p. 13)

“United in Christ”

“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, are in me; and I in thee; that they

also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And

the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even

as we are one: I in them; and thou in me, that may be made perfect in one;

and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as

thou hast loved me. John 17:21-23

Lake Region Conference Campmeeting

June 15 – 23, 2018

Campmeeting is upon us and we are praying for a

Holy Spirit-filled encampment. This year our theme

We are EVER LEARNING that with God, all things

are possible and that it is critical that we work

together to do what we can to provide excellence

in education for our children.

We are EVER RISING – but advancing on our

kneed – knowing that “Higher” than the highest

human thought can reach is God’s ideal for His children.

Godliness – godlikeness – is the goal to be reached.

(True Education, p. 12). We rise united for the cause of

educating our children to love Jesus, to appreciate the

value of their own lives as well as their neighbor and to

serve others with integrity and to the highest standard.

We are EVER COMMITTED to doing what God desires,

so that His will, promises, and miracles can be seen in

our schools, and embodied in our students, as we move

forward in faith.
