Concept:<br />
If technology, such as the WAY POD, was implemented<br />
to take over the mundane jobs (desk administration)<br />
within Cultural Archives, it would allow the staff to take<br />
on more creative and social roles.<br />
This concept, Personal Guides, explores how Cultural<br />
Archive staff could provide a personalised experience<br />
for the visitors. Using similar technology to the UBER<br />
app and Snapchat map, cultural institutions could<br />
provide an app that connects the visitors to tour<br />
guides. If a tour guide is available they will appear on<br />
the Cultural Archive layout map on the app just like an<br />
UBER driver. The visitor will see the exact positioning<br />
of the guides in real time, along with their name. The<br />
visitor can simply request the tour guide, the guide will<br />
receive this as a notification and then find the individual<br />
or group. The visitor can ask the guide questions and<br />
pick specific exhibitions, display or objects to gain<br />
information on. This concept provides an on-demand<br />
personalised experience for visitors. If the Cultural<br />
Archive offers its visitors any interactive activities, such<br />
as object handling sessions then this can pop-up on the<br />
visitors map, allowing the visitor to find this session.<br />
