With the district boundaries being two braided rivers and from mountain lakes through to the ocean, water safety has never been so important. COMMUNITY POOLS Darfield Pool provides heated swimming pools, a 25m outdoor pool along with two indoor pools, a learners pool and toddler pool. During the open summer seasons, swimmers can also take advantage of swim lessons, swim club and aqua fitness. Leeston Pool is targeted at preschool and primary school families. Leeston is a key holder pool. Sheffield Memorial Pool has both a lane pool and a paddling pool. Southbridge Pool provides a great day out for families and friends, with a lane and paddling pool. SELWYN AQUATIC CENTRE Selwyn Aquatic Centre is a year round facility supporting the community swimming needs. With a combination of a lane pool, hydrotheopy pool, learn to swim pool and a leisure pool with lazy river there is something for everyone.
