to come. Each Degussa gold bar comes with a bank security
number. You can also store your bars in a depot at your
bank using this Swiss security identifi cation code.
Degussa cast gold ingots are suitable for larger investments. They are
available in 100 g, 250 g, 500 g and 1,000 g formats.
Certificate of authenticity included
All minted Degussa bars come in a robust blister pack with a
dual-page certifi cate of authenticity. Cast Degussa gold and
silver ingots weighing from 100 g to 1,000 g come sealed in
transparent foil backed with a one-page certifi cate inside.
Degussa minted gold bars come in smaller units. They are available in 1 g,
2.5 g, 5 g, 10 g, 20 g, 1 oz, 50 g and 100 g formats.
Special formats such as the Degussa combination gold bar are an

Platinum is a one of the key resources used to manufacture
catalytic converters. Its chemical properties weren‘t
investigated in depth until the 18th century. And it was
only the 1924 discovery of a large deposit in South Africa
– the Merensky Reefs – that made large-scale platinum
mining economically viable.

Discovered as recently as 1803, palladium has been minted
in coins and bars for investors since the mid-20th century.
Today palladium is also an important industrial commodity.
This industry-driven demand makes Degussa palladium

Rhodium is particularly rare. The global yield is just 22
tonnes per year. This supply could easily fi t under a kitchen
table, yet it has to cover the demand for around 50 million
cars. Degussa is the fi rst vendor in Switzerland and Germany
to sell rhodium in bars.
Silvery-white and shiny, iridium is a very hard and brittle
precious metal. Among the pure metals, it is second in
density only to osmium. Among other applications, it is used
in the electrical industry to manufacture long-lasting, ultra
robust contacts.

to Degussa‘s depots (5 kg gold and up)? Our high-security
depots provide a level of safekeeping normally reserved
for institutional investors. With this option, you are
choosing to store your precious metals in a professional
repository outside the banking system.
Silver, platinum and palladium may also be stored in one
of our bonded warehouses (value of CHF 250,000 and
up). Value-added tax does not have to be paid until you
take physical possession of the metal. We are also happy
to cater for your personal wishes by providing storage
options in Switzerland or abroad. Degussa has partner
companies on all continents that maintain depots. Your
possessions are stored individually to ensure your
