4th and 8th Grade Summer Remediation

Summer remediation will be provided for students currently in grades 4 and 8 who have an

overall average of a D or an F in English, reading and/or math. Summer remediation will be held

at various sites listed below June 4-June 21 on Mondays-Thursdays from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM.

Transportation and lunch will be provided. Summer remediation sites and which students will

attend those sites are listed below:

*Students who are currently enrolled at TASP will return to their home-based schools based

on their home address. M-to-M students will return to their home-based schools unless their

parents are willing to provide transportation to the M-to-M school site. If you have any

Junior High/ High School Summer School

Registration for 7th grade summer school will be June 1 & and June 4 from 8:00

AM – 2:00 PM each day. Classes begin Tuesday, June 5. Summer School offers 7th

grade math and 7th grade reading/language arts. The fee Is $225 for one class

or $450 for both classes. The schools will have packets and there is a page that

must be signed by the principal or counselor.

Registration for high school summer school for Carnegie Units will be June 1 &

June 4 from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM each day. Classes are offered online and

students can begin working once registered. The cost is $150 per ½ credit


Registration Information

Bring the following documents to either Registration Center in Hammond or Amite.

1. Student’s original birth certificate

2. Photo ID of parent/guardian

3. Student’s social security card, if available

4. 2 Proofs of residency showing the physical 911 address (examples: utility bills, property tax statement, lease

agreement).

5. Up-to-date immunization record

6. Withdrawal documents from previous school

7. IEP or IAP, if applicable

8. Copy of court order or custody agreement if parents are separated or divorced

9. Copy of the court decree in the case of a student living with a legal guardian.

Southeastern Community Music School

Private Lessons (Piano, Violin/Viola, Cello, Guitar, Voice, Flute, Bassoon, Trumpet, Percussion)

June 1-July 26, 2018

Tuition is due on or before the start of lessons. Prices listed above are based on 7 weeks of instruction: tuition will be prorated

for fewer lessons. 30 minute lessons are assumed unless otherwise noted.

Chamber Music (Strings) Workshop (June 25-June 29; 9:00-12:00)

This workshop will be focused on chamber music repertoire including but not limited to duet, piano trio and string quartet.

Participating students will have the opportunity to improve their sight reading skills, instrumental technique, and develop

stronger ensemble skills while experiencing the joy of playing together. Activities will include ensemble lessons, master class,

private instruction and theory class. Student Qualifications: violin, viola, cello, piano students of all ages who have had at

least one year of lessons on their instrument. (Fee $170.00)

Choir Workshop (June 25-June 29; 9:00-12:00)

This workshop will be focused on choir repertoire.

Participating students will have the opportunity to improve their sight reading skills, vocal technique, and develop stronger

ensemble skills while experiencing the joy of singing together. Activities will include choir rehearsals, master class and music

theory instruction.Student Qualifications: students in grades 7th - 12th. (Fee $170.00)

Guitar Workshop ((June 25-June 29; 9:00-12:00)

This workshop will teach students how to approach music that is typically presented in an advanced fashion by experienced,

professional, musicians. The focus will be on learning to arrange and perform songs according to individual skill levels. Students

can participate using tab reading, standard notation, or playing by ear. Instruction in classical guitar is also

available.Students Qualifications: 10 years or older. (Fee $170.00)

High School Band Camp (June 4-June 8th; 9:00-5:00)

Middle School Band Camp (June 18-June 22nd; 9:00-5:00)

We are very excited about the upcoming Southeastern Louisiana University Summer Band Camp, which will be offered through the

Southeastern Louisiana University Community Music School. Camp activities include concert band, chamber groups, master

classes, jazz ensemble, jazz combos, improvisation, and theory instruction. In addition to these activities, each student will

receive two private lessons. (Fee $225)

Beginner String Orchestra Workshop (June 25- June 29; 4:00-5:30 M-TH, 10:30-12 Friday with concert at 1pm

This workshop allows first to third year violin, viola, cello and bass students to experience the joy of playing together while

improving their music reading and performance skills as well as their knowledge of music theory. The daily orchestra session is

bound to bring every student's musicianship to the next level through various musical fun activities. (Fee $125.00)

Little Lions Camp

The SLU Little Lion Soccer Camp’s objective is to teach basic soccer skills and develop the proper

techniques needed to improve as a youth soccer player. Campers will take part in drills such as dribbling,

passing, and shooting, as well as participate in games with fellow campers. Campers will be grouped

according to age and ability for games.

Rick Fremin Camps and Clinics welcomes all players going into 7th grade and up as well as

Junior College players to North Oak for a 2 hour Mini- All-Skills Camp. All aspects of the

game such as hitting, fielding, catching, pitching, and base running will be included in a two hour

time frame. Southeastern Coaching staff as well as players will work with campers on their

skill-set and mental approach to the game.

REFUND POLICY: $25 fee for all refunds. No refunds will be given two weeks / 14 days

The Children's Art Education Workshop is sponsored by Southeastern's Departments of Visual Arts and Non-Credit Programs. All students

will complete a t-shirt design, model magic sculpture, zig zag books, and printmaking project. The workshop is 8 days long and students will

complete 8 different projects including painting and drawing. These projects will be based on the theme “Get Art Smart.” Learn about famous

artists as you make inspired artwork that also celebrates you!

Children enrolled in the workshop will be instructed by art students who will be supervised by Dr. Kim Finley.

Enrollment will be limited to 75 students. Children will be enrolled on a first come, first serve basis. Enrollment is not secured until payment

in full has been received. NO EXCEPTIONS!.

want to get them out the house for a while? CPG Summer Camp may be

just what you’re looking for! CPG’s summer camps will provide your

child with a fun-filled day of gymnastics, arts and crafts, games, and

open gym time. Call the gym today to reserve your spot!

Camp will be offered from 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday of the

following weeks:

June 11th-15th (Gymnastics Camp)

June 18th-22nd (Ninja Zone Camp)

June 25th-29th (Gymnastics Camp)

July 9th-13th (Ninja Camp)

Enjoy the whole week for $140, or $30 per day! Ages 4-12.

Before and after care will be offered from 8am-4pm for an additional

Summer Camps

We are putting the twist on Kids Camp this summer with different and fun themes matched to painting choices that

will stretch your child’s imagination and challenge their artistic skills! Every week is different and could include

teaching new techniques, figuring out color schemes, using recycled paint to create texture, learning how to use a

palette knife (not sharp) and having fun splattering paint!

For each week there will be a daily painting matched with a craft activity, game or free flow and maybe a few

sing-a-longs karaoke style! Look for the theme in the title of each full week camp description.

For the full week of camp, the charge is $175, subsequent weeks (same child only) $150 per week. Please call the

Summer Theatre Camp

for Kids

Students currently in K through 4th grade are invited to join us in a “Telling of all Tales” summer theatre

camp.We will perform classic story tales of different lands in the form of acting, dance, and song. There will be a

part for everyone!

Camp fee: $300.

Dates: Monday through Friday July 9-13

9am-3pm

Performance at 2pm on Friday the 13th.

Camp rehearsals and performances will be at oue studio.

Tuition includes a camp t-shirt.

Concessions are available during break times, but students should bring their own lunch and a refillable water

bottle.

BOOT CAMP!!! Two camps in July July 17-19 and 24-26

Last July, Main Street’s boot camps were quite the

success! These mini camps were an awesome way to get

your kids back in action and back into physical shape!

Classes begin every morning and end early afternoon.

Exposure to many fun classes this week include- Ballet,

tap, hip hop, musical theatre, jazz, fitness, yoga,

contemporary and acting for dancers. What a variety!
