BAY HARBOUR
Latest Christchurch news at www.star.kiwi
from the reporter’s desk
I WAS at the Lyttelton Market on Saturday morning and felt the
lively atmosphere.
People basked in autumn sunshine and stall-holders were busy
and upbeat. Lyttelton really is humming at the moment.
Up the hill at Oxford St Reserve, the new skate park was a hive
of activity as Lyttelton youths learned where they were allowed
to paint in the new park – and had a crack themselves (see page
1). Los Angeles-based street artist Dcypher was there to help
teach them how.
He has designed and executed a new mural which showcases
Lyttelton landmarks, native plants and birds and a skateboarder
of course.
It’s a beauty and something the town can be proud of – get
along to the Oxford St Reserve and check it out for yourself.
