This is a found poem. --TW Rae Wynn-Grant: A refocusing on the identity of scientists who do conservation science, or people who do conservation work, and an inherent valuation of the protection, safety, opportunities, and futures of these individuals and their communities will transform the effectiveness and relevance of conservation. It is arguably the only way for this field to move forward. Listening to and centering the perspectives of those historically underrepresented in this field is critical for the sea change this planet aches for. Even more importantly, we need to transform understanding into action, especially from allies and those with decisionmaking power. A healthy, functioning, morethan-human world is achievable if we make equity and inclusion foundations of our work.
