This year’s calendar is highlighted by the 10 annual Triple Play Concert Series. This year’s series is scheduled to feature Melissa Etheridge on June 30, Chris Isaak on Aug. 11, and Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers on Aug. 25. Tickets are available for just $60 beginning Saturday, May 19, and the price will increase to $70 after June 1. Accompanying the Triple Play Concert Series is the return of Fridays After Five, a series of evenings that each feature a variety of food trucks and live music. Scheduled for June 22, July 20, and Aug. 31, these free events offer an inexpensive way to start your weekend off on the right foot. Coolers, blankets and lawn chairs are all welcome as you spend the evening enjoying the tastes and the tunes. Another returning favorite are Movie Nights in the Village Commons, which are scheduled to begin on June 6. Every Wednesday night features a popular feature presentation for the whole family, and admission is always free. Movies begin at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.), and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Select movies will feature special activities prior to the show, so be sure to check out the Village website when making your plans. New to the Village Commons this year is an event for our youngest residents: Play Day in the Commons on July 15. With inflatables, visits from their favorite characters, face painting, games, live entertainment and more, it will be an afternoon full of big fun for your little one. Bands and Brews will be back for its fourth year on Aug. 4, bringing three local cover bands to the spotlight along with a variety of craft beer tastings throughout the evening. Ladies Night Out is scheduled for Aug. 17, with unique shopping opportunities and entertainment taking place throughout the Village Commons. The Village’s Independence Day Celebration is scheduled to commence at 6 p.m. on July 4, with live music and an unbeatable fireworks display. Finally, Live on the Lawn will return on two dates, June 10 and July 8, and will be a celebration of our community talent, featuring performances from the New Lenox Community Band and other local artists.
