We have many events planned for this summer, so start making your plans now to enjoy all that Lockport has to offer. First, the City of Lockport will kick off summer with its annual Old Canal Days Festival to be held June 14-17 in downtown Lockport. This familyfriendly event starts June 14 when the carnival comes to town. On the evening of June 15 we will have a parade followed by rockin’ entertainment in the main tent. Please note – the parade route has been changed FOR THIS YEAR ONLY due to the construction project on State Street! Please visit oldcanaldays. com to see a map of this year’s parade route. June 16 and 17 will offer a huge craft show with more than 100 vendors, live bands in beer/wine tent, food trucks, bingo, car show, petting zoo, theater performances, magic show, cemetery tours, history tours and exhibits, plus much more. You can also see the “What’s It Worth Antique Show” on Lincoln Landing from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. June 16 and 17. So, if you are looking to have an antique or heirloom appraised, just go to the large tent on the north side of Lincoln Landing. There will be several antique vendors on site as well. Then, on June 17 we will have a worship service in the main tent with a bean bag tournament and craft beer tasting to follow shortly after. For more information on the activities and entertainment offered at the 2018 Old Canal Days event, please go to In addition to Old Canal Days, the city will offer a variety of events in downtown Lockport, including Cruisin’ Into Lockport classic car show with live entertainment and a food court, Movies at the Roxy, and the Local Artist Choice Awards art contest. Cruisin Into Lockport car show is held every 6:30-8:30 p.m. every Monday from June 4-Aug. 27. Movies at the Roxy will be held on select Thursday evenings at the newly renovated Roxy Theater. Only a limited of tickets are available due to the size of the venue, so be sure to reserve your seats today! Please see Summer-Art-Series#roxy to view the movie schedule and reserve your tickets. The Local Artist Choice Awards contest offers prizes to the first-, second- and third-place winners in two categories: for ages 17 and under, and ages 18 and older. The art submissions will be displayed within hosting businesses in downtown Lockport from June to August. The public can view the creations and vote for their favorite one. Such a fun way to experience downtown Lockport and support our local artists. Submitted by the City of Lockport, 222 E. 9th St., in Lockport.
