Gym-Kinetics produces state champions year after year Gym-Kinetics has another stellar year. The Mokena gymnastic school has been producing state champions for the past 33 years, and this year has been no different. Owners Jim and Wendy Fredrickson just expanded the facility by 7000-squarefeet, which was completed this past December, providing its athletes an even better training facility. Not only did the expansion improve the training experience, but it also made a much more comfortable experience for all of the recreational students. Jim Fredrickson has said that our recreational students have made Gym-Kinetics what it is today. Before the expansion, Gym-Kinetics was a 16,000-square-foot facility. Today, the south side gym boosts 23,000-square-feet packed full of state-of-theart equipment for all levels of gymnastics. Before the expansion we were pretty packed full but ran a very efficient program, Fredrickson said. Jim and Wendy mentioned: “We always listen to our customers and our customers were asking for more.” So that’s what we gave them. Gym-Kinetics added space for its growing boys gymnastics and Ninja Zone programs along with reorganizing the spaces to give its clientele a more comfortable experience. Wendy mentioned customers now come in thinking Gym-Kinetics has many less students in the program, but it really have the same amount spread out in a bigger space, which gives the appearance of less students. Not only does the added space provide a better experience for the recreational students, but the competitive team has one of the best training facilities in the midwest. The Fredricksons said the new space with all of the upgraded equipment has helped them produce even more state champions than in the past, and paved a path for National Qualifier Jocelyn Harbeck and Madeline Grobmeier, who verbally accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Illinois at Chicago. Gym-Kinetics offers classes for children of all ages. Baby Gym (walkers up to 2 years old), Mom and Mini’s (2 year olds), pre-school age classes for children aged 3-5 years, beginner gymnastic classes for boys and girls aged 5 and up, Ninja classes for boys and girls, tumbling classes, and now introducing Kinetic Cheer. Kinetic Cheer is an introductory cheer class that will teach motions, chants, tumbling and more. Summer registration is underway. Submitted by Gym-Kinetics, 19220 Ridge Drive, Mokena.
