Despair<br />

The sky may not be falling<br />
But it presses against my skin<br />
Confined to expectations<br />
As the worries creep in<br />
Hold your breath<br />
Close your eyes<br />
It can all be beautiful<br />
Keep telling those lies<br />
Shield yourself from the pain<br />
It ’s better not to feel<br />
But it will still remain<br />
If you never take time to heal<br />
Trapped inside a mental<br />
storm?<br />
You’re not the only one<br />
Those who suffer every day<br />
Might seem so full of sun<br />
Life is no fairy tale<br />
There is no rewind<br />
Make the most of today<br />
Tell that to your spinning<br />
mind<br />
The storm will pass eventually<br />
Or maybe hover still<br />
You never know what life<br />
might bring<br />
Or what it ’s come to kill<br />
Not drowning, no<br />
But sinking<br />
Life can go on<br />
I can’t stop thinking<br />
Ripples from the surface<br />
It looks different from down<br />
here<br />
Out of touch with all that ’s<br />
known<br />
Now nothing is clear<br />
Running in circles<br />
Chasing the unattainable<br />
The glass is half empty<br />
When it once was full<br />
Close your eyes<br />
Hold your breath<br />
You can never avoid<br />
The truth of Death<br />
The sky may not be falling<br />
But I feel it closer now<br />
I want to resist it<br />
But I just don’t know how<br />
