D.A.V. College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar
began its remarkable journey in 1958 in
an endeavour to enable girls to empower
themselves. The trials and tribulations faced
by the administrators and the faculty
members in establishing themselves as a
multi-faculty Post Graduate institute bore
fruit when Kurukshetra University,
Kurukshetra acknowledged the College as
the Best Women College of Kurukshetra
University in 2003. D.A.V. College for Girls,
Yamuna Nagar commemorated its fifty
years in the year long Golden Jubilee
Celebrations which concluded in October
2008. The College was also conferred the
status of College with Potential for
Excellence in the session 2009-10 by
University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
The session, 2010-2011, became special
for us at D.A.V. College for Girls, Yamuna
Nagar, when we received the 'A' grade by
NAAC making our dream come true and
taking us a step further in fulfilling the
vision of our founding fathers. Recently
ranked 108th out of 535 colleges by National
Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)
constituted under the Ministry of Human
Resource Development for grading &
ranking institutions and colleges in India.

research. Providing access to
e-publications through INFLIBET and DELET
networks.

HOSTEL: We have a facility for residing
650 outstation students to reside in our
3 hostel buildings. The hostel is equipped
with modern facilities like commercial
washing machines, geysers, a modern
kitchen and an eco-friendly generator
(125 KVA) which provides 24 hour power
backup. It has 7 Common Rooms, 4
Guest Rooms, 1 Principal's Residence
and 1 Tuck Shop. The new five storied
Hostel building has a Indoor stadium, and
Gym.
PLACEMENT: Students are placed in
Wipro, Infosys, IBM Daksh, Genpact,
Kodak Life Insurance, HCL, HDFC, ICICI,
and a number of Teaching Institutes.
