EFFICIENT TIMBER JOINTS:

No slitting and tapping - the BiLO ® -UBt-connector connects timber joints

of solid wood and wood material quickly and invisibly.

BiLO ® -UBt-connectors are manufactured of 4 mm thick steel and are

galvanized all-around.

The BiLO ® -UBt-connector is marked by numerous application options

at a high flexibility in planning and the design of wood structures.

The wide-range selection of the connector sizes allows the optimal

implementation of all connections in static wood construction.

The invisible use of the connectors enables clean component connecting

joints, which meet the highest aesthetic demands.

The BiLO ® -UBt-connector can support loads in hanging direction

(symmetric axis) lateral to the hanging direction as well as tensile forces.

Forces against the slide-in direction (such as lifting forces) can be absorbed

in conjunction with the BiRA ® -HK-screw connector. The simple, filed

plug-in system of the BiLO ® -UBt-connectors provides the employee with

great potential cost-reductions.

ASSEMBLY INFORMATION

• The BiLO ® -UBt-connector is marked on the main beam, support or purlin is marked (according to the

installation position of the secondary beam) and bolted together with BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws

under 90°. The centre web (finger) points upward against the attachment direction.

• The installation position of the BiLO ® -UBt-connection is measured and marked on the secondary beam.

• Position the connector and screw together with BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws below 90°.

• The centre web (finger) points down in the attachment direction.

• Advantage of the 90° bolting compared to the slanted bolting:

The positioned connector does not shift.

• It is attached with diameter 6 x 80 mm BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws.

ASSEMBLY INFORMATION

• BiLO ® -UBt-connector is marked on the main beam according

to the installation position of the secondary beam and

lowered 8.5 - 9 mm deep.

• Place the BiLO ® -UBt-connector in the milled-out portion and

bolt with BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws, diameter 6 x 80 mm under 90°.

• The centre web (finger) points upward against the attachment direction.

• The installation position of the BiLO ® -UBt-connection is measured

and marked on the secondary beam.

• Position the connector and screw together with

BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws below 90°.

ASSEMBLY INFORMATION:

• The BiLO ® -UBt-connector is marked on the support crossbar on

connections, for example, on supports and is bolted with diameter

6 x 80 mm BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws under 90°.

• The centre web (finger) points upward against the attachment direction.

• BiLO ® -UBt-connector is marked according to the installation position on

the secondary beam/crossbar and lowered 8.5 - 9 mm deep.

• Place the BiLO ® -UBt-connector in the milled-out portion and fasten with

BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws, diameter 6 x 80 mm under 90°.

The centre web (finger) points down in the attachment direction.

• The milled-out portion on the secondary beam/crossbar is omitted in

connections with a shadow gap.

SLANTED AND INCLINED CONNECTIONS:

• The installation is as described above, however, diameter 6 x 50 mm

BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws are used on the narrow sides of the beams

(tip of beam).

SECURING AGAINST ELEVATING FORCES:

ASSEMBLY INFORMATION:

• BiLO ® -HK-screw connectors may be installed at d1 = 8.0 mm according

to general building inspection permit No. Z-9.1-667, in order to absorb the

elevating forces.

• A hole of diameter 5 mm is introduced in the direction of the upper edge of

the secondary beam to precisely position the BiLO ® -HK-screw connector

by the longitudinal hole of the assembled BiLO ® -Ubt-connector on the

secondary beam below an angle of ≤ 80°. The focus of the bolted part

attached in the secondary beam should equal 10 d1 from the end of the

secondary beam according to appendix 10 of the permit.

• Based on pre-drilling, the load of the BiLO ® -HK-screw connector is reduced

by 10% against extracting (authorized Nz i.e. Rax,k) (see Z-9.1-667).

• After attaching the BiLO ® -UBt-connector, the BiRA ® -HK-screw connector

is bolted effortlessly and at a precise fit in at the required length up to the

main beam through the hole in the secondary beam.

Fastene: BiLO ® -UBt-bolts, diameter 6.0 x 80 mm (i.e. diameter 6.0 x 50 mm for a and/or b ≤ 90°).

1) a..Horizontal angle, b..Vertical angle..always between the main beam (i.e. support or wall) and secondary beam.

In (horizontal) slanted (30° ≤ a < 90°) or (vertical) inclined (30° ≤ b < 90°) connections, the values Q i,k and/or Q r,k must be multiplied by

factor ks = [ ( 1-sin5 (90° - a)) x ( 1-sin3 (90° - b) ] m . (m = 0,5 bzw. 0,7 depending on the positioning of the main beam).

(e.g.: a = 60°, b = 45°, m = 0,7 ks = [ 0,969 x 0,646 ] 0,7 = 0,720).

2) Values only apply for a single load from Q i,k oder Q r,k oder Z k (Load combinations and planned momentum effect are regulated in the

permit by additional verifications).

BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws were simultaneously developed with the

BiLO ® -UBt-connector and are therefore precisely coordinated with

the requirements.

BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws are corrosion-protected according to DIN

1052-2. The tried and proven BiROX ® -drive as well as the extra friction

coating guarantee an easy attachment.

PRODUCT ADVANTAGES:

BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws and BiLO ® -UBt-connectors are matched to

each other. One complete system from one location.

Only BiLO ® -UBt-connector screws are needed.

BiRA ® -HK-screw connectors were developed for the structural timber

construction. They are used to deflect lifting forces in conjunction with the

BiLO ® -UBt-connector (forces against the inserting direction).

A hole of diameter 5 mm is introduced in the direction of the upper edge of

the secondary beam to precisely position the BiLO ® -HK-screw connector

through the longitudinal hole of the assembled BiLO ® -Ubt-connector on the

secondary beam below an angle of ≤ 80°.

The BiRA ® -HK-screw connector is bolted in effortlessly and precise after

attaching the secondary beam through the hole at the desired length.

BiLO ® -UBt-screw connectors are corrosion-protected according

to DIN 1052-2.

The tried and proven BiROX ® -drive as well as the additional friction coating

guarantee an easy attachment.
