A Year of
Engagement
HATTIE HILL
PRESIDENT & CEO
Women’s Foodservice Forum
The robust foodservice ecosystem continues to offer new
opportunities to professionals at all levels who are eager to
build and advance their careers in this rapidly growing and
dynamic industry.
The restaurant industry alone is expected to add 1.7 million
new positions over the next decade and has outpaced total
U.S. job growth for the past 16 years.
The future looks bright for our partners in manufacturing,
distribution, operations, consulting and virtually every business
segment that interacts with and supports our industry.
This growth is also driving strong demand for talent. All segments
of the industry need capable, prepared professionals to lead in their
organizations. A growing number of those leaders will be women.
The foodservice industry has a long and distinguished record
of advancing women leaders and WFF is continuing to serve as
a catalyst to drive and support these efforts. For more than 25
years, we have supported women leaders moving into senior
management, advancing to the C-Suite, preparing for board
leadership and founding their own businesses.
We continue that work today with even greater zeal as we
partner with companies that understand the impact of more
gender-balanced organizations. In fact, a Women in the
Workplace study conducted by McKinsey & Company and
LeanIn.org, found that companies in the top quartile for gender
diversity are 15% more likely to have financial returns above
the national median for their industry.
It is exciting and humbling to shepherd the premier leadership
development organization charged with advancing women
leaders in our industry at a time of unprecedented opportunity.
WFF remains committed to offering innovative content, the most
sought-after speakers, more online and regional content and new
programming (such as our Board Leadership Workshop) to ensure
that every ambitious, talented, dedicated professional within our
industry possesses the resources to succeed.
KAT COLE
WFF BOARD CHAIR
Group President, Focus Brands
I am deeply honored to serve as Chair of the Board of the Women’s
Foodservice Forum, an organization I have been involved with for
many years and have relied on for my own professional growth,
development of leadership teams, and connection to many of the
best talent in our industry.
WFF provides the content, competencies and connections to help
each of us build our skill sets, expand our accomplishments and
prepare for higher levels of service and opportunity.
At the WFF Annual Leadership Development Conference, and
through a myriad of educational and networking events throughout
the year, we see firsthand WFF’s critical role in preparing a
broadening pipeline of talented leaders for our industry. We also
witness WFF’s significant impact in the accelerated careers and
changed lives of its members.
The most accomplished and admired people in our industry engage
with WFF to serve as role models, champions and advocates to
advance women leaders, and I am proud of the WFF Board’s
contribution to that effort.
It is particularly rewarding to pass the baton to one of the most
influential leaders in our industry, the 2016 WFF Chair, Wendy
Davidson, President of U.S. Specialty Channels for the Kellogg
Company. It is going to be an excellent year!

COMMUNITIES OF INTEREST
Communities of Interest provide an opportunity for leaders in our
industry to connect with other individuals with similar needs or
interests. They have grown from a single event to now being a
year-round platform for resources, connections and leadership
development. The seven communities include: Caregivers, LGBTA,
International Mobility, Military Families, Women of Color, Working
Parents and Young Professionals.
ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP
With women-owned businesses and women-driven revenue
increasing rapidly, we recognized the need to reach out and provide
leadership development and training to the women who run these
entrepreneurial organizations with our Entrepreneur Boot Camp.
The inaugural Entrepreneur Boot Camp, presented in partnership
with The Coca-Cola Company, was an information-packed one-day
event hosted in Atlanta on October 7, 2015.
