22 SUMMER TERRACE SESSIONS AT ROKA CANARY WHARF Roka Canary Wharf is launching the Roka Summer Terrace Sessions, a series of parties to celebrate the warm summer months with Cîroc vodka. Starting from the 1 June, the Roka Canary Wharf terrace will be transformed on the last Friday of each month into a rooftop party, each one with a different theme and featuring performances by internationally renowned DJs. With the terrace ambiance ranging from the relaxing shores of the Balearic Islands, to the streets of Notting Hill Carnival, each evening will transport guests to the ultimate party scene. The first Roka Summer Terrace Session: ‘The Spirit of the Balearic’, will see DJ sets by 8track Music’s Massimo Lamagna, DJ Mass and Jim Wood, Jim8track. Regulars at Bestival and Ibiza Live Radio, the duo will bring a sunshine-filled balearic set of slo mo disco, original samples, luscious house and cosmic grooves. From 18.30 to 23.00, guests to the terrace will be able to start the weekend in style enjoying Cîroc vodka cocktails, specially created by the Roka bar team. These include Amnesia, Cîroc vodka infused with sansho berries, rosemary droplets bitters, tonic water and garnished with an orange zest, rosemary and thyme, and later in the series, the British Garden, a Cîroc vodka martini, with Sakura vermouth, Cocchi Americano, elderflower and strawberry cordial and garnished with a grapefruit zest. Tickets are £15. MICHEL ROUX JR. HOSTS DINNER AT ROUX AT PARLIAMENT SQUARE On 13 June, Michel Roux Jr. will host an exclusive wine dinner at Roux at Parliament Square. He will be joined by winemaker Jean-Dominique Videau from the renowned Château Branaire-Ducru in Bordeaux, whilst Head Chef Steve Groves will prepare an exquisite five-course menu with each dish perfectly matched to one of the Château Branaire-Ducru wines. Château Branaire-Ducru is situated in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, and with vines planted over 60 hectares, all grapes are harvested by hand. Dedicated to producing wines that enhance the eating experience, Château Branaire-Ducru seeks purity, fruit and freshness in every vintage. For the dinner on 13 June, Steve Groves has taken inspiration both from seasonal British ingredients and dishes from the Bordeaux region of France. Guests will be welcomed with Champagne and a selection of light bites. To follow, dishes will include langoustine, pig’s trotter risotto and capers, served with Duluc de Branaire Ducru, 2010 and Roast turbot, hen of the woods and chervil alongside Branaire Ducru, 2012. The pièce de résistance will be a beautiful Roast beef sirloin, truffle pommes purée and hispi cabbage served with both Branaire Ducru 2003 and Branaire Ducru 2000. Concluding the meal, Tunworth, toasted crumpet and gooseberry compote will pair elegantly with the cedar, plum and blackberry aromas of the Branaire Ducru 2010. Michel Roux Jr., Steve Groves and Jean-Dominique Videau will present each pairing, whilst the stylish and luxurious setting of Roux at Parliament Square will provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening.
