านศลปะจากปกแมลงทับ ถือเปนหนึ่งในศลปะโบราณที่ชางไทย<br />
เชยวชาญมาชานาน ความยากของการรังสรรคศลปะประเภทนี้<br />
นอกจากจะตองใชปกแมลงทับที่ตายตามธรรมชาติที่มีสสนและ<br />
ความแวววาวเทาๆ กันแลว ยังอยูที่การนําปกแมลงทับเฉดสตางๆ<br />
มาเรียงกันใหสวยงาม ซงทุกขั้นตอนยอมตองใชความประณีตและ<br />
วิริยะอุตสาหะอยางยิ่ง ปจจุบัน ศลปะจากปกแมลงทับยังคงมีใหชมที่<br />
พิพิธภัณฑศลปแผนดิน พระที่นั่งอนันตสมาคม นอกจากจะมีหองที่<br />
ประดับดวยปกแมลงทับสุดอลังการแลว ยังมีงานปกแมลงทับแบบอื่นๆ<br />
อยางเชนงานสานยานลิเภา สอดปกแมลงทับ รวมถึงงานไมแกะสลัก<br />
ประดับปกแมลงทับดังเชนไกแสนสวยเหลานี้<br />
ecorations created from iridescent beetle wings is considered one of Thailand’s most ancient<br />
and longstanding areas of expertise. The diffi culty in creating such work begins at the<br />
process of selection, whereby the wings of insects that have died of natural causes are<br />
chosen for their uniform colour and lustre. Afterwhich, wings of different colours are then lined<br />
up to create a perfect gradient. Each step of this process requires refi nement and perseverance.<br />
Visit the Arts of the Kingdom Museum Ananta Samagom Throne Hall to see the magnifi cent<br />
Beetle Wing Room along with other artful pieces such as Yan Lipao basketry with beetle wings<br />
and wood carvings like these ornamental fowls.<br />
