Arizona Antique Shows, continued from page 3...
Wanda says the fact that many compliments from both
exhibitors and customers come in after every show is a true
testimonial to this. “Amazingly, every walk of life could come
through our door and I can’t think of any one person who will
tell you we aren’t one of the most professional and courteous
shows in the industry,” she adds.
Dealers visiting the shows bring an array of merchandise
that spans from tin or toys, ephemera, and retro period items to
fabulous pieces of artwork; Tiffany and other high quality art
glass, porcelains, pottery
and estate jewelry to early
Americana, primitives,
mercantile items, and
costume jewelry. There
is wonderful furniture in
addition to fine linens and
even vintage Christmas
ornaments. A customer
can conceivably find $5
items or easily spend in
the tens of thousands
if their hearts so
desire. This is no longer
a show filled with beanie
babies and hot wheels. The Phoenix Antique Market is truly
an antique market and a buyer’s dream. Wanda says she knew
their Phoenix Antique Market gained the industry’s respect
that she and her family worked so very hard for when major
periodicals like Country Home or the upcoming USA Today’s
weekend edition feature the Phoenix Antique Market with
articles on the shows.
An exhibitor such as Kent Monken who has moved to
Arizona from the East coast and was a regular at prominent
east coast shows from the Pier to Brimfield is now a regular at
the Phoenix Antique Market. Visit Kent’s booth and you will
have the opportunity to purchase Daum Nancy, Roseville,
artwork or fabulous Victorian jewelry to name just a few.
You can find quality art including Salvador Dali from
Rudolph Curiel, a noted art dealer from California. Rudolph
is also a professional art and antiques appraiser and offers his
services at the shows or upon home visits. This doesn’t mean
you won’t find western favorites like primitives, mercantile
or western items or beautiful dolls since there are plenty if
you visit Bob Minor from Arizona or Evelyn Brannock from
Nebraska. There are always the regulars who have exhibited
over many years and have given Robert and Wanda their
loyalty and stuck with the shows to help rebuild them. Betty
McDonald from Globe is returning for the November
show along with friend and dealer/shop owner, Cheryl
Brazell. Other regulars include Ray Ramirez, Bob and Genie
