parks and Recreation The residents of New Lenox are fortunate to have their parks and recreational needs addressed in a number of different ways. With a variety of options to meet the unique needs and interests of each resident, New Lenox has something to offer everyone. New Lenox Community Park District The New Lenox Community Park District is proud to serve over 60,000 New Lenox Village and Township residents. To serve this community, a strong group of individuals consisting of five Park Board Commissioners, a hard-working staff of 33 full-time and over 260 seasonal part-time employees, are dedicated to serving this community’s recreational activities. Currently, the Parks-Maintenance Department maintains and attends to over 37 park sites and amenities they contain. The Park District’s programming options continues to grow with each seasonal Program Guide. Published three times per year, the Program Guide offers different educational programs, athletics, fitness, special events, sport leagues, travel excursions, child care services for students attending New Lenox School District #122 and numerous summer camp opportunities. In addition, the Park District operates The Sanctuary Golf Course, an 18-hole championship golf course located on Marley Road. As a quality, “links style” golf course, the Sanctuary provides a challenge for all skill levels. The Sanctuary has a full-service golf shop as well as food and beverage offerings in the Clubhouse, and features an outside deck with a wonderful view of the course.
