K-Seal’s advanced formula uses ceramic
microfibres together with copper particles of
varying size to ensure a fast and
permanent seal of most holes or cracks in
the cooling system, up to 0.75mm.
The special chemical formulation can flow
into cracks so fine that they cannot even be
seen with the naked eye to form a superstrength
seal. The crack or hole is actually
filled from top to bottom with the K-Seal
formula resulting in a complete ‘weld’ and
permanent repair. The copper in the K-Seal
formulation not only contributes to the
strength of the repair but it also helps to
conduct heat across the crack or hole. This
eliminates hot spots that would normally
form with a non-metallic repair.
K-Seal can be left in the cooling system and
will continue to repair leaks as they happen.
You won’t even notice that there was a
problem. In fact, K-Seal is ideal to use when
rebuilding engines. Often there can be
micro-cracks which would go unnoticed after
the repair has been completed. Adding
K-Seal to the cooling system immediately
after a repair and also after each coolant
replacement ensures that any and all leaks
are sealed thus preventing time consuming
and costly returns.
How Does K-Seal Work?
When there is a crack or hole in the cooling
system, this generates a low pressure area.
K-Seal finds the low pressure area and
deposits the special ceramic micro-fibre and
copper formulation as it flows through the
damaged area. Within seconds the crack or
hole is completely filled with the ceramic
micro-fibres and copper and the repair has
been made. This seal is further enhanced by
heat to form a repair that will last the life of
the engine. K-Seal is specially formulated to
permanently seal cracks in the engine block
and head. This unique product is guaranteed
to mix with all types of glycol based coolant
and antifreeze. K-Seal can also be used to
seal holes and cracks in the head gasket,
radiator, heater core, freeze plugs, water
pump casing and other metal components of
the cooling system in both petrol and diesel
engines. K-Seal will not seal water to oil
leaks or oil to water leaks. It must leak to an
atmosphere to be able to work properly.
Strong Eye Catching Packaging
Instructions for Use:
1. Shake bottle vigorously (at least 30
seconds) to ensure that the contents are
evenly mixed.
2. Add the entire contents to the radiator or
overflow tank. (When adding K-Seal to
the overflow tank, you can pre-mix the
contents with 1 to 2 litres of water to
ensure rapid dispersal into the cooling
system). Do not pour direct onto metal.
Note: K-Seal can be added to a cold or a
hot engine.
3. The leak will normally stop within 1 to 3
minutes once the engine has reached
operating temperature and the K-Seal is
flowing freely around the cooling system.
4. Top up the coolant as necessary leaving
the K-Seal in the system for future
sealing. K-Seal is compatible with all
types of antifreeze.
K-Seal ULTIMATE
Permanent Head Gasket Repair
Permanently repairs coolant leaks in the head
gasket, head and block
Will also repair porous blocks
Powerful trade trusted ceramic formula
Safe and simple to use
Added anti-rust protection
Money back guarantee
Freeze proof formula
K-Seal ULTIMATE is simply the best product available for permanently
fixing leaks in the head gasket, head and block of all water-cooled
engines. The unique ceramic microfibre formula is scientifically
engineered to seal leaks up to 0.6mm in size (according to ASTM
D3147). Anything larger and the formulation simply passes safely
through. This ensures that K-Seal Ultimate will fix serious leaks but will
not clog even the narrowest waterways or components within the
cooling system.
K-Seal ULTIMATE is suitable for use with all water-cooled engines
from motorcycles up to heavy duty trucks. Just 1 bottle will treat
cooling systems with a capacity of up to 20 litres e.g. cars, light trucks
and large SUVs. Anything larger simply add 2 bottles. Some
competitor products require 2 or even 3 bottles for even medium sized
engines making their solution exceptionally expensive.
Unlike many other head gasket and block repairs, K-Seal ULTIMATE is safe to use with all
types of antifreeze, including the waterless coolant types. Plus, K-Seal ULTIMATE can
also be added to just plain water if required. So it doesn’t matter what coolant package is
already in the system, with K-Seal ULTIMATE you simply shake the bottle, pour it into the
cooling system and run the engine. As soon as K-Seal ULTIMATE starts flowing around
the cooling system it will be drawn to the leak area where the unique combination of
sealing ingredients will stop the coolant leak and then make a permanent repair –
guaranteed.
In a very few cases, K-Seal ULTIMATE is sometimes unable to make a repair. But with
the 100% money back guarantee the customer simply contacts K-Seal directly to arrange
a full refund (see website for more details)
Scientifically Tested: K-Seal ULTIMATE has been thoroughly evaluated and tested by
Brighton University Engineering Division. They used the American standard for coolant
stop leak products, ASTM D3147, as the benchmark. Following a series of tests they
concluded that K-Seal meets all the requirements of the standard. Amongst other things,
this means it will fix leaks up to 0.6mm but will pass freely through a filter of 0.85mm,
ensuring that K-Seal ULTIMATE is safe to use in even the most modern engines.
Top Tips:
• K-Seal ULTIMATE includes a freeze protection additive that makes sure it is ready for
use even down to -38C. So even when the weather is freezing and the cooling system
is cracked, K-Seal ULTIMATE will be ready for use just when you need it most. No
other coolant leak repair product offers this benefit.
• If the cooling system is over-pressurising then simply add K-Seal ULTIMATE directly
via the radiator or the top hose. Alternatively drain a little coolant, mix it with the
K-Seal ULTIMATE and add it back into the system. This delivers the formula directly
into the cooling system to avoid it being trapped or blown out of the header tank. You
can also remove the spark plug from the offending cylinder to reduce the pressure.
"Used...bottle on my saab 9-3t petrol after local garage
quoted £1200 for head gasket. Car running fine now
brilliant product thank you."
“It's designed for head gaskets that the normal K-Seal
might not repair.”
“It's the ultimate one, excuse the pun, it does the job.”
"I put this in my 2005 Cadillac XLR and fixed the issue, I
am so happy. It was going to be $3500 by the local
dealer to rebuild the engine, and who knows if that would
have fixed it. What a product."
Industrial Strength Epoxy Putty and Paste
VERSATILE
QUIKSTEEL can be used to rebuild,
reshape, and repair almost any type of
surface including steel, iron, copper, brass,
bronze, silver, aluminium, exotic metals
found in racing bicycles, wood, glass,
ceramic, fibreglass, boron, fibre-epoxy
products, masonry, concrete, and many
types of plastic.
FAST DRYING
QUIKSTEEL sets up in 4 to 5 minutes, is
hard like steel in 15 minutes, and is
completely cured and ready to drill, sand,
tap, prime and paint in one hour.
STRONG
There are two ways strength is measured.
One is on the horizontal plane -- this is called
"shear strength" -- and the other is on the
vertical plane and is called "tensile strength."
Shear strength -- When cured (one hour
drying time) QUIKSTEEL has a shear
strength of 740 pounds per square inch. This
means that when two pieces of material are
bonded together with a one inch bond of
QUIKSTEEL, it would take a pressure
greater than 740 pounds to break the bond.
That would be the equivalent to the weight of
four to five strong men. For comparison,
pine wood has a shear strength of 400
pounds per square inch, so QUIKSTEEL is
almost twice as strong as pine.
Tensile strength -- QUIKSTEEL has a tensile
strength of 6,200 pounds per square inch.
©Kalimex Ltd 2013
This would mean that a piece of QUIKSTEEL
one inch in diameter could lift the weight of
three cars.
HARD
QUIKSTEEL is a very hard material.
Technically it is rated at D-87. "D" is the
highest hardness rating in the Shore rating
system. QUIKSTEEL, when cured, can be
compared to ABS plastic (material used to
manufacture automobiles) or the fibre epoxy
wings on the B2 bomber.
When cured, QUIKSTEEL, can be processed
in any way that you can process steel or
wood. It can be turned on a lathe, machined,
drilled, tapped, milled, sanded, sawed,
routed, primed, and painted
SEALS LEAKS UNDER WATER OR IN
FLUIDS
QUIKSTEEL cures under water and in all
atmospheric conditions. Leaks can be
sealed inside a container, tank, etc. with
liquids still in the item to be sealed. For
example, if a gasoline or diesel fuel tank has
a rupture, QUIKSTEEL will seal the leak
while the drainage is occurring. No need to
empty the container prior to repair.
IMPERVIOUS TO CHEMICALS
QUIKSTEEL is impervious to chemicals,
solvents, fuels, oils, and acids including
battery acids.
STEEL REINFORCED
QUIKSTEEL has the maximum holding
power because it is steel reinforced and
manufactured using a proprietary blend of
the highest grades of epoxy.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Preparation
1. Using sandpaper and a wire brush, remove
loose rust and contaminants around the crack or
hole. Clean an area 1-inch in all directions
around the crack or hole.
2. When repairing a crack, relieve the stress by V-
grooving the crack and drilling a hole (1/8 / 3mminch
minimum) at each end of the crack.
3. Remove any dirt, grease or oil with a solvent. If
necessary burn off residue using a blow torch.
Application to repair cracks and small holes up
to 1/4-inch in diameter
1. Using a screwdriver blade or ice cream stick, mix
the QUIKSTEEL XTREME thoroughly.
2. Apply QUIKSTEEL XTREME to the crack or hole
and force it into the crack or hole if possible.
3. Apply a layer of QUIKSTEEL XTREME over the
top of the first application about 1/2-inch thick at
the crack or hole and tapering off as the entire
prepared area is covered. Smooth or shape as
desired.
2). There are several ways to accomplish the final
cure of QUIKSTEEL XTREME.
a) Allow QUIKSTEEL XTREME to cure for 24-
hours at room temperature. Extend the time in
colder environments.
b) On a combustion engine, start the engine and
allow the engine to idle for 15 minutes before
driving the vehicle or operating the engine at
normal work loads.
c) Use a heating source (hair dryer, etc.), other
than an open flame, that will raise the
QUIKSTEEL XTREME to a temperature of 250 0 F
/ 121 0 C.
If bubbling occurs the product was cured too
rapidly or the surface was not adequately
cleaned and dried. Allow the surface to
cool, scrape off the blistered material and
reapply product to the area that bubbled.
Application to repair holes larger than 1/4-inch in
diameter
1. Cut a section of fiberglass matting that is 1/2-
inch larger than the hole in all directions.
2. Using a screwdriver blade or ice cream stick, mix
the QUIKSTEEL XTREME thoroughly.
3. Apply a 1/4-inch layer of QUIKSTEEL XTREME
to one side of the fiberglass material and place
the fiberglass material over the hole with the
QUIKSTEEL XTREME material face down on
the crack. Press in place around the hole, but do
not apply pressure directly above the hole.
Allow to sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
4. Apply a 1/4-inch layer of QUIKSTEEL XTREME
over the top of the fiberglass material and taper
it toward the edge of the prepared area.
Curing
1) QUIKSTEEL XTREME strengthens with heat;
however, it must be properly cured before high
heat or direct flame is applied. The first step is
to allow the QUIKSTEEL XTREME to cure at
room temperature for 3 to 4 hours. In colder
temperatures, lengthen the initial cure time. A
good test to determine if the initial cure has been
accomplished is to press your thumbnail into the
QUIKSTEEL XTREME. If you cannot dent the
surface when you press your thumbnail into the
QUIKSTEEL XTREME, it is ready for final
curing.
Finishing
You can machine, drill and sand QUIKSTEEL
XTREME after it is fully cured. When machining, do
not use a lubricant. CAUTION: Wear a dust mask to
prevent inhalation of sanding or machining dust. You
can also tap QUIKSTEEL XTREME, but the threads
are not strong like those tapped in a cured epoxy.
Storage and Cleanup
Store sealed container between 41 0 F / 5 0 C and 95 0 F
/ 35 0 C. Do not freeze. Clean hands and area with
soap and water.
CAUTION: IRRITATING TO EYES AND
SKIN. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF
CHILDREN. IF SWALLOWED SEEK
MEDICAL ADVICE IMMEDIATELY.
Do not use to repair tanks or boilers that contain
water or other liquids.
QUIKSTEEL XTREME is an environmentally safe,
water-based compound which is nonflammable and
contains no solvents or volatile organic compounds.
Dispose of in accordance with local laws & regulations.
emissions, improve performance and save money. JLM, the innovators in diesel and
DPF cleaning additives have developed the most powerful Petrol Catalytic
Exhaust Cleaner available in the UK, with more active ingredients than any
other brand – guaranteed.
J03150 - Petrol
Reduces Emissions
Increases Engine Performance
Improves Efficiency
Saves Money
Cuts maintenance costs
Cleans injectors, carburettors and the entire fuel delivery
system to keep them in optimal condition
Eliminates sticking valves
Prevents deposits of gum, varnish and sludge
Protects against corrosion
Eliminates rough idling and knocking
Cleans Lambda sensor
Improves the performance of the catalytic converter
Unlike existing formulas, JLM have developed 2 distinctly separate formulas, one for petrol
and one for diesel. This allows a more targeted and effective clean of the entire fuel and
exhaust system to achieve maximum results. Plus, the JLM Petrol Catalytic Exhaust
Cleaner also contains an octane booster to increase performance. All of this available in a
concentrated 250ml bottle for easy application.
Usage: Add one 250ml bottle to minimum 20 litres of fuel (can also be added to a full tank
but results may take a little longer). Drive the vehicle normally to allow the additives to
take effect. For best results retreat every 5000 miles and especially prior to the MOT test.
Also suitable for MOT emissions failures prior to the retest.
This test shows the clean-up performance of the
product. In this test, the engine runs on a
reference fuel for over 50 hours in cycles of 1
hour. At the end of each cycle, the engine power
is measured. After the cycles on reference fuel,
the engine starts to run on fuel with JLM
Catalytic Converter Cleaner. Again, the engine
runs in cycles of one hour after which the engine
power is measured.
The test results show that the original engine power is almost completely restored when
using JLM Catalytic Converter Cleaner.
“A clean fuel system contributes to better fuel economy”
An ECE 15 emissions test cycle has been conducted using a Golf FSI and an Audi A3.
Fuel consumption of the vehicle was measured when operating on dirty injectors and using
a base quality petrol. The vehicle was then run for 1000km in “clean up” mode using the
same fuel with the JLM Petrol Catalytic Exhaust Cleaner. At the end of the clean up mode,
the fuel consumption of the vehicle was re-assessed with impressive results:
The Octane Booster
Boosts octane level by 2 - 4 points.
Improves and restores performance and
cleans fuel intake systems. It also
prevents exhaust valve seat recession,
eliminates rough idling and engine
hesitation and prevents spark plug
fouling.
Diesel Air Intake and EGR Cleaner

Dissolves carbon deposits, gum and
varnish
Quickly cleans EGR valve, air intake
system, manifold and inlet valves
Restores airflow to engine
improving power and acceleration
Reduces exhaust smoke
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is designed to
reduce the level of nitrous oxide being emitted
through the exhaust system. To achieve this, a
proportion of the exhaust gas is diverted back
from the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold
via an EGR valve unit to mix with the inducted
charge.
On older engines there
are increasing failures
with leakages from the
EGR valve and to replace one can
cost upwards of £150
USE EGR CLEANER AT EVERY
SERVICE TO MAINTAIN GOOD
OPERATION OF THE INLET
MANIFOLD AND EGR VALVE.
Instructions
Remove the hose between the turbo and air
intake. Spray in short burst directly into the
inlet manifold with the engine running at approx
2000rpm until the engine runs smoother. Use
approximately half the can (250ml) per
treatment. Replace the hose when finished.
Before Treatment
After Treatment
Typical sludge build up in the inlet manifold
The system works well as far as reducing the
oxides of the nitrogen on a new engine but in
general on engines older than 2 years (35,000
miles), the effectiveness is compromised by the
sludge build up inside the inlet manifold. This
further reduces engine performance and airflow,
which in turn reduces combustion efficiency and
increases other unwanted emissions, principally
CO 2 and particulate emission. The sludge is a
combination of oil and particulates (soot)
meeting at the EGR valve inlet. The oil can be
found leaking from the front bearing of the
turbocharger (compressor side) but mainly from
the breather system which is directly connected
into the induction tube between the air filter and
turbocharger on a tdi engine.
Valve Saver Kit includes 500ml fluid
For vehicles converted to run on Autogas
(LPG or CNG) it is important to protect the
valves from excessive wear. Autogas fuel
does not contain the special lubricating
additives found in petrol or diesel, plus
Autogas burns drier. This promotes excessive
wear in the valves and valve seats leading to
premature and costly failures.
Although additives for use with Autogas
fuelled vehicles have been available for a
while, the JLM Valve Saver Fluid is the first
product to ever receive the TüV Approval.
Independent tests in road trials by the HTW
University in Germany demonstrated no valve
wear after 10,000kms using the JLM Valve
Saver Fluid.
Awarded Best
Valve Saver Fluid
at GasPro 2011.
The JLM Valve Saver Kit incorporates a
400ml reservoir which will treat 400 litres of
fuel, approximately 4000kms of driving. The
kit is easy to install and, in addition to the
comprehensive instructions included with the
kit, JLM offer a helpful video on their website
to guide you. Plus each kit comes complete
with a 500ml bottle of JLM Fluid worth £17.
Unlike existing formulas, JLM have developed 2 distinctly separate formulas, one for diesel
and one for petrol. This allows a more targeted and effective clean of the entire fuel and
exhaust system to achieve maximum results. Plus, the JLM Diesel Catalytic Exhaust Cleaner
is the only product of its kind to actively promote regeneration of the DPF. All of this is
available in a concentrated 250ml bottle for easy application.
Usage: Add one 250ml bottle to minimum 20 litres of fuel (can also be added to a full tank
but results may take a little longer). Drive the vehicle normally to allow the additives to take
effect. For best results retreat every 5000 miles and especially prior to the MOT test. Also
suitable for MOT emissions failures prior to the retest.
Diesel Treatment Clean-up performance
A Direct Injection Common Rail engine runs
on a reference fuel for over 30 hours (in 30
cycles of one hour).
At the end of each cycle the engine power
is measured. After the initial cycles on a
reference fuel the engine starts to run on
fuel with JLM Catalytic Exhaust Cleaner
additives.
The test results are incredible. As is clear
from the plot complete power restoration
and hence complete clean- up is achieved
with fuel treated with JLM Catalytic Exhaust
Cleaner.
Keep Clean Performance
Apart from the Clean-Up
performance, JLM Catalytic
Exhaust Cleaner completely
blocks the formation of deposits
within the injector holes or
channels preventing power loss
in all engine platforms, including
the latest technology diesel fuel
injectors.
JLM Diesel Catalytic Exhaust Cleaner
The only CEC to promote DPF Regeneration The
JLM Catalytic Exhaust Cleaner is the only product of its
kind to actively promote regeneration in the Diesel
Particulate Filter (DPF).
This lowers the ignition temperature of soot collected in the
diesel particulate filter and optimizes periodic combustion of
accumulated soot (filter regeneration).
The unique combination of a clean fuel system, clean
combustion with lower emissions and catalysed soot
particles will assist in keeping the catalytic converter,
exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) as well as the turbo
compressor and its variable geometry vanes clean from
deposits.
• Ensures complete and rapid diesel particulate filter
regeneration
• Reduces ignition temperature of trapped soot ensuring
extraordinary combustion at temperatures typically
encountered during normal engine operation
• Prevents performance loss caused by clogged diesel
particulate filters and incomplete combustion of soot
• Reduces particulate emissions assisting in meeting
strict legislation and emission limits
• Extends lifetime of the expensive diesel particulate filter
• Most economical way of soot reduction without any
changes to the fuel system
• Regeneration of diesel particulate filters is 5-10 times
faster and more complete than when using a catalyst
coated diesel particulate filter
• No secondary emissions
• Can be used for all diesel engines with standard or
retrofitted diesel particulate filter
Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner - Car & Commercial

Hi-Tech new formula specifically designed
for use with the new generation of Diesel
Particulate Filters. Cleans and prolongs
filter life.
The additive operates in two ways. First, it
uses a catalyst to adhere to the soot
particles during combustion, lowering the
temperature at which they can be burnt off
at. Secondly, the additive also increases
the fuel burn temperature, in turn
increasing the exhaust temperature. This
increases the temperature inside the soot
trap, burning off the soot and regenerating
the filter.
JLM DPF Cleaner burns of the soot at
lower temperatures so it will not cause a
‘runaway’ regeneration, or cause a DPF
failure due to excessive heat during
regeneration.
Adding JLM DPF Cleaner to the diesel
tank every service interval will ensure the
filter regeneration takes place fully with all
DPF types, in all driving conditions
(dependent on soot load, filter condition &
age).
The 375ml J02210 tin will treat a fuel tank
up to 60 litres and the J02215 Heavy Duty
will treat up to 170 litres.
Evidence of these systems
failing to regenerate comes to
light every day. In the UK, the
AA is getting more & more calls
from drivers with DPF warning
lights indicating a filter
blockage, and not knowing
what it is or what to do about it.
How does a DPF work?
As with any filter they trap
particles, in this case harmful diesel exhaust
soot particles, so they have to be emptied
regularly to maintain performance. For a DPF
this process is called regeneration.
The DPF needs to be cleaned regularly,
through a process called regeneration, either
active, passive or forced regeneration.
The accumulated soot is burnt off at high
temperatures (600C) to leave only a residue
of ash, effectively renewing or regenerating
the filter, ready to take on more pollution
from the engine.
About Diesel Particulate Filters & vehicle
filter systems
Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), sometimes
referred to as soot traps, are becoming more
common today due to ongoing changes in
emissions regulations. With Euro 5 standards
now with us, Particulate Filters in diesel car
exhausts are now as common as catalytic
converters on petrol cars.
This relatively new way to combat vehicle
pollution has proven to be very successful in
providing major reductions to diesel exhaust
Not all vehicles have the same systems.
PSA group vehicles – Citroen, Peugeot etc. and
also some Fords and Volvos, have an active on
board additive system with its own tank & pump
that automatically doses the correct amount of
additive to the diesel fuel. This active type relies
on a fuel additive to lower the ignition temperature
of the soot particles and, along with the engine
management system, monitors the load of the filter
with sensors. This triggers filter regeneration by
altering engine timing and fuel flow settings. The
additive is stored in a separate tank and is mixed
automatically with the fuel when you fill up. The
additive must be topped up regularly with PAT
Fluid. This requires specialist equipment and
involves resetting engine management systems.
This must be carried out by a qualified technician
approximately every 75,000 miles.
For this vehicle type with on board dosing
system use JLM J02270 DPF Refill Fluid
Active regeneration: The active system works off
a filter load limit or sensors reading exhaust
backpressure or the ‘soot load’ of the filter,
activating timing adjustments to the fuel injection
which in turn increases the exhaust temperature,
initiating the burning of the soot and regenerating
or clearing the filter. Depending on the vehicle
brand, This type of DPF regeneration can also be
initiated by the vehicle ECU every 250 – 400 miles
or so depending on vehicle use and takes around
10 minutes to complete.
For this type of DPF use JLM DPF Cleaner
Passive regeneration: This generally takes place
on the motorway where exhaust temperatures are
higher. This type of system can have an integrated
oxidising catalytic converter located close to the
engine where exhaust gases are hot enough so
that passive regeneration is possible. Passive
regeneration relies on the exhaust temperature
being high enough to automatically burn off
deposits, e.g. motorway driving, or using the ECU
to alter the vehicle timing to control the process. In
city driving or short trips the regeneration may not
take place fully. This causes the filter to become
blocked and can lead to higher fuel consumption
and a visit to the mechanic for cleaning or
replacement of the DPF
For this type of DPF use JLM DPF Cleaner
initiating a regeneration of the DPF. This will also
require changing the engine oil & oil filter.
What causes the DPF to become blocked?
Every vehicle type & engine combination can
have differing reasons as to why the filter blocks.
The rate of particulates generated by the engine,
the quality of the fuel, quality of the oil, driving
style, even the location of the DPF in the exhaust
system can all contribute to filter blockages or
insufficient regeneration.
Generally, the problems arise in urban stop/start
driving which prevents effective regeneration. A
dashboard warning light or message will indicate
the DPF is full. If you continue to drive in the
same manner the soot build up will increase,
further warning lights will illuminate and the
vehicle will go into ‘limp’ mode. At this stage the
only option is mechanical intervention. Having
the DPF removed and cleaned can cost from
£300 upwards.
If the filter cannot be cleaned a replacement
will cost up to £2000.
Commons Causes of DPF Blockage
Use low ash engine oil - not using the correct
oil specified for your engine can significantly add
to the soot build-up in the DPF.
100% Diesel Bio Fuel - Using these Bio Fuels
can also contribute to extra soot build up loading
in your DPF as the Bio Fuel may not burn as
‘clean’ (produce more particulates)as your regular
Diesel fuel.
City Cycle driving – We don’t all use our cars in
the same way, if you only use your car around
town you may experience a faster buildup of soot
in your DPF as the regeneration process may not
complete in short city or around town driving.
Temperature - The DPF relies on temperature to
carry out a filter regeneration, at around 600c, so
a lot of short trips, low speed driving will not
provide the exhaust system with a high enough
temperature to begin or complete a regeneration,
so the filter can block up faster.
High Mileage Vehicles: As vehicles with DPF
systems age it will become more difficult to
achieve a successful regeneration. Like any part
on the car they do wear out and can no longer be
repaired .
Forced Regeneration: When your vehicle
displays second stage DPF warning lights it will go
in to ‘limp mode’ and should be taken to your
garage or dealer to ascertain the extent of the
problem. A forced regeneration involves the
garage using a computer program to run the car,
Diesel DPF Spray
• Diesel DPF Spray is the fastest and
cheapest way to clean a blocked DPF
• Removes particulate, carbon and other
deposits
• No need to remove or dismantle the
filter
• One piece disposable aerosol pplicator
requires no special tools
• Extends the life of the DPF unit
• Lower repair costs
• Additional revenue for workshops
JLM Diesel DPF Spray for automotive
professionals removes particulate, carbon and
other deposits in dirty diesel particulate filters
(DPF) quickly and effectively, without the need
to dismantle the filter.
JLM Diesel DPF Spray J02220 is a spray that
comes in a handy aerosol can and contains a
high concentration of active ingredients to
clean and dissolve dirt. JLM Diesel DPF Spray
cleans and regenerates dirty and blocked
diesel particulate filters by reducing the
combustion temperature of particulate, which
means that it combusts earlier and faster at a
lower engine temperature. JLM Diesel DPF
Spray can be used in all old and new diesel
engines in all vehicles with a particulate filter
Diesel DPF Spray is the fastest and cheapest
way to help your client to get back on the road
as soon as possible, whilst at the same time
providing additional profit margin in the
workshop. Diesel DPF Spray J02220 is ideal
for garages when they are presented with
vehicles with an illuminated particulate filter
warning light.
Vehicles that are used to make short journeys
or are rarely driven on motorways do not
become warm enough, which means that they
regenerate (clean) the particulate filter poorly,
or not at all in many cases. Diesel DPF Spray
offers a solution for the engine symptoms of
loss of power or increasing fuel consumption
that is caused primarily by driving short
distances.
JLM Diesel DPF Spray restores the
particulate filter's full capacity and ensures
that exhaust gases can once again be
expelled by the exhaust without any
resistance.
Spray JLM Diesel DPF Spray into the
particulate filter prior to forced regeneration
(by means of a test drive or OBD) to clean
the filter and help the vehicle pass its tests.
Evidence of these systems failing to regenerate
comes to light every day. In the UK, the AA is
getting more & more calls from drivers with DPF
warning lights indicating a filter blockage, and not
knowing what it is or what to do about it.
How does a DPF work?
As with any filter they trap particles, in this case
harmful diesel exhaust soot particles, so they have
to be emptied regularly to maintain performance.
For a DPF this process is called regeneration.
The DPF needs to be cleaned regularly, through a
process called regeneration, either active, passive
or forced regeneration. The accumulated soot is
burnt off at high temperatures (600C) to leave only
a residue of ash, effectively renewing or
regenerating the filter, ready to take on more
pollution from the engine.
What causes the DPF to become blocked?
Every vehicle type & engine combination can
About Diesel Particulate Filters & vehicle
filter systems
Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), sometimes
referred to as soot traps, are becoming more
common today due to ongoing changes in
emissions regulations. With Euro 5 standards
now with us, Particulate Filters in diesel
vehicle exhausts are now as common as
catalytic converters on petrol cars.
This relatively new way to combat vehicle
pollution has proven to be very successful in
providing major reductions to diesel exhaust
emissions but, as with any new technology,
sometimes there can be problems. Evidence
of these systems failing to regenerate comes
to light every day. In the UK, the AA is getting
more & more calls from drivers with DPF
warning lights indicating a filter blockage, and
not knowing what it is or what to do about it.
DPF problems?
In order to regenerate properly the DPF must
reach a high temperature, something which
only happens during extended driving cycles.
Diesel powered vehicles used in urban or
stop/start driving environments are unlikely to
reach the required operating temperatures to
regenerate and clean the DPF. As a result the
DPF becomes clogged and eventually the
vehicle will go into ‘limp’ mode. At this point
the filter must be cleaned before permanent
damage occurs. This is where the DPF
Cleaning Kit from JLM comes in.
The JLM DPF Clean & Flush Fluid Pack includes:

DPF Cleaning Fluid (500ml)
DPF Flush Fluid (1500ml)
The JLM DPF Cleaning Toolkit includes:

New MOT rules now prohibit the removal
of the DPF (a bodge to try to bypass the
original problem). Any vehicle originally
fitted with a DPF must have this in place,
and working, in order to pass the MOT.
Spray Gun
Sprayer Tank (with special coating)
Transparent Hose
2 x conical nozzle
DPF Probe (optional extra)
The process involves thoroughly cleaning the
filter with the stage 1 cleaning fluid followed
by flushing out all the residue with the stage
2 flush fluid. Everything needed to complete
the work is included in the JLM Cleaning
Toolkit but the optional DPF Probe can also
be used to aid the process depending on the
type of DPF being cleaned.
Instructions
Step 1. Fill the sprayer tank with step 1, JLM DPF
Cleaning Fluid
Step 5. After flushing, dry the sensor hose
thoroughly and reconnect.
Step 2. Connect the conical nozzle to the soft hose
of the front DPF pressure sensor. Steadily spray
the all cleaning fluid into the DPF for approx. 1
minute and let it settle for 2-3 minutes.
Step 6 (recommended). Add 1 x JLM DPF
Cleaner to prepare the DPF for optimal
regeneration.
Step 3. Now run the engine for 2-3 minutes at
2-3000 RPM. Make sure a collector is placed
under the exhaust.
Step 7. Start a regeneration cycle via the on
board computer following vehicle manufacturer’s
guidelines. Reset any warning signals related to
the DPF. Alternatively drive the vehicle for
approx. 20 minutes at suitable speed / RPM to
initiate a regeneration cycle.
• Compatible with all makes and models
of vehicles from 2001 onwards, as well
as being the most reliable and costeffective
choice for all on-board
fuel-borne catalyst systems.
• JLM Refill Fluid is a universal aftermarket
replacement for diesel particulate filter
additives for all on-board fuel-borne
catalyst systems.
DPF Refill Fluid (PatFluid)
• PSA vehicles (Citroën, Peugeot and also
some Ford & Volvo) have an active on
board additive system with its own tank &
pump system that automatically doses the
correct amount of additive to the diesel
fuel. This active type relies on a fuel
additive to lower the ignition temperature
of the soot particles and along with the
engine management system, monitors the
load of the filter with sensors & triggers
filter regeneration by altering engine timing
& fuel flow settings.
The additive is stored in a separate tank
and is mixed automatically with the fuel
when you fill up. This dosing tank needs
filling up with Refill Fluid & associated
equipment that then involves system
resetting.
The JLM Refill Fluid re-filling procedure
should only be performed by a
professional mechanic.
• A low cost fuel borne catalyst, which is
used to aid regeneration of particulate
filters in diesel passenger cars and vans.
• DPF Refill Fluid is made up of an
advanced bi-metallic formulation to
maximise performance.
• For vehicles with no on board dosing
system use JLM DPF Cleaner – Part
J02210.
• Benefits:
‣ Higher performance than existing
products
‣ Cost effective
‣ High reliability
DPF PatFluid Refilling Instructions
The DPF additive can sometimes be stored in
a separate tank or bag within the vehicle and
at some time in the vehicle’s life the tank or
bag will need to be refilled.
Vehicles with bag type reservoirs are located
in a housing and are easy to remove for filling.
Now, using the JLM Refill Fluid transfer
solution, it is not only possible to fill the tanks
but also the bags.
One easy step that avoids the need to replace
the whole bag by a simple gravity feed
method.
Easy filling of existing reservoir:
