Autobahn: 70th

Autobahn: 70th Celebration By David Robertson, Region President photos provided by Carey Spreen, David Robertson & 360 West Autobahn hosted their 70th celebration event away from the dealership at Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork, a great venue. The parking lot was full of Porsches from all generations and before heading towards the music emanating from the forest It was great to soak in the view. Of course, the theme of the celebration was all about Porsche. A combination of old and new were on display including one of the most beautiful 356’s I have ever seen and our own Clay and Bettie Perrine’s new (to them) 1970 914 6. There were early 911’s, to the latest model 911 GT2 RS and a 918 thrown in for good measure. Our Past President and Autobahn Porsche Brand Ambassador, John Hamilton, kicked off the event introducing GM Zoran Gutic who appropriately started his speech in German. I am not sure what he said but it sounded like he knew what he was talking about! 20 July

Autocross Event 4: Mineral Wells Mirrorcross By Mark Schnoerr, Region Autocross Chair The morning of May 20 started out with serious whiteout thunder and lightning extreme Texas style rainstorm for all who were making the trek to Mineral Wells. Top speed on the commute was barely 50 mph, and cars were off the road everywhere. The weather prognosis was bleak, so some turned around and went home. By 9:15 it was starting to clear; we ended up being able to run the special dual course Mirrorcross event despite the photos by LightSpeed Images P1 - 'PCA 1' Total Entries: 1 1T 16 Fran Ussery 986 Boxster S Speed Yellow Total 98.071 P3 - 'PCA 3' Total Entries: 1 Total 1T 73 David Valdez 911 S White 911 S 92.867 P4 - 'PCA 4' Total Entries: 2 Total 1T 44 Mark Schnoerr 914 Green 88.269 2 915 Sigrid Schnoerr 914 Green 91.133 P6 - 'PCA 6' Total Entries: 1 Total 1 56 Scott Wolthuis 911S Blue 89.993 P7 - 'PCA 7' Total Entries: 1 Total 1 7 Douglas Edney 996 Black 92.449 P8 - 'PCA 8' Total Entries: 1 Total 1 428 Owen Coulman 911 GT3 Guards Red 87.895 weather threat.
