LONDON CELEBRATES SEVENTH EDITION OF SAIL ROYAL GREENWICH<br />

Returning to London for the seventh time, ten tall ships will sail down the Thames<br />

from 4-8 July, ending in a fantastic fireworks display each evening. London is a city<br />

best seen from the river, and a Tall Ships Cruise is a unique way to see the City in<br />

style. There are three types of cruise available with daily departures at 11.00, 14.00<br />

and 15.30 followed by a firework cruise with a 20.30 departure time. There are also<br />

VIP trips available, leaving at 19.00. New for 2018 is the Sunday Brunch VIP Cruise<br />

on 8 July at midday. This cruise includes a passage under Tower Bridge when the<br />

Bridge will open especially for the fleet of Tall Ships – a truly unique experience.<br />

WEST END LIVE 2018<br />

With queues stretching back to<br />

Leicester Square, there was a capacity<br />

audience in Trafalgar Square of around<br />

80,000 across the weekend for West End<br />

LIVE – and many more watching on<br />

screens outside the square. The event is<br />

estimated to have drawn hundreds of<br />

thousands of people into the West End.<br />

27 shows performed at West End<br />

LIVE this year, alongside a host of other<br />

acts including solo stars, ensembles,<br />

comedy duos and stage schools – 11<br />

hours of performance in total. Around<br />

700 performers took to the stage in<br />

Trafalgar Square. The TKTS pop-up<br />

booth in Trafalgar Square reported<br />

record ticket sales.<br />

PRIDE IN LONDON<br />

This year’s Pride Festival will run for<br />

a whole month until 7 July. With<br />

everything from ping pong, to Morris<br />

dancing, to an under 18 talent<br />

competition – there’s something for<br />

everyone across the capital.<br />

The Pride Festival is London’s biggest<br />

LGBT+ Festival where volunteers and<br />

community groups come together to<br />

showcase everything it means to be<br />

LGBT+ in the capital today. The theme<br />

for this year’s Pride is 'Pride Matters'<br />

where Festival goers and Parade<br />

marchers alike are encouraged to think<br />

about what Pride means to them.<br />

The Pride in London Parade takes<br />

place on Saturday 7 July from noon.<br />

Highlights for the 2018 Festival also<br />

include: Rising Stars at Underbelly<br />

Festival – 2 July. The LGBT+ community<br />

of London will keep revellers entertained<br />

all night long through music, dance,<br />

comedy, acrobatics, bands and even a<br />

choir. Science Museum Sexuality Late<br />

on 27 June is an adults-only, after-hours<br />

theme night, celebrating human<br />

sexuality with talks, performances,<br />

music and visual arts from the LGBT+<br />

community.<br />

The Pride in London Variety Show in<br />

the IMAX Theatre, includes the<br />

legendary Mzz Kimberley and special<br />

guests, along with drag royalty host<br />

Michael Twaits. LGBT Summer Picnic –<br />

24 June on Hampstead Heath is a<br />

chilled out afternoon on Hampstead<br />

Heath. Enjoy a drink and a bite to eat<br />

with friends, old and new, in the<br />

summer sun.<br />
