Ages 6 - 8, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, Teaching Artist: Virginia Manning<br />
In "The Illustrated Adventure," we'll start camp each day with an interactive group story<br />
time, with a book selected for the days theme. From there, we will move on to an art<br />
project, song or game inspired by the story. <strong>Camp</strong>ers will perform with puppets and create<br />
fabric sculptures and edible art. We will explore the components of the physical book, as<br />
well as different types of picture books, including wordless, concept, narratives and those<br />
told in verse, rhyme or prose. We will end each day with quiet time--a chance for campers<br />
to read a book they have chosen from the class library. The week's five themes are:<br />
Incredible Critters, Impossible Pets, Cook Books and Books with Cooks, Amazing Artists,<br />
and <strong>Camp</strong> Favorites. <strong>Camp</strong>ers who took "The Illustrated Adventure" in 2017 should<br />
register for "The Illustrated Adventure continued" class.<br />

make beautiful masterpieces of their own. When you<br />

with elements of lines and patterns added. Doodling is a unique creation of your inner<br />
